Here is Jeff's Facebook update about 20 minutes ago:

Jeff Horner: I would just like to tell everyone that I have not been offered the job as a G.A. at Iowa. I have not talked to anyone one down there and just wanted to clear everything up.

Totally uncalled for. I do not know Horner personally, but I'd wager next weeks pay check he's not in the same DH club as Saban...Nicholas also said he wasn't going to be the coach at Miami. He's got a history, you expect stupid crap from him. Horner's history has been all hawkeye. He may still end up on the staff (and the Hawks would be better for it), but he hasn't been offered anything yet.

I don't think that he was comparing Horner to Saban. Completely different situations. It's been obvious from what Jon has said that Horner WANTS the job at Iowa but has not had any discussions with the powers that be. Horner was just clearing that up.

Saban flat out lied. And he's a D-bag.
 
Yeah, the comparison of Horner to Saban is an insult to Jeff. I do not think he was comparing the two guys though, just the fact that when things are in the works, people generally say something along these lines.
 
Well, I think the original post topic was misleading to say "Horner is not joining staff", when in fact this has yet to be determined.

My fault. I edited my post for you.

Yesterday it was reported that he was hired. So I found this to be newsworthy, and my headline says the exact opposite of what the "Voice of the Hawkeyes" reported, and it is from Jeff himself.

I agree that it has yet to be determined, though.
 
This is rather interesting because Jeff says he did not talk to anyone down there, meaning Iowa. We know that is not true.

My guess is Horner was talking and saying some things he shouldn't have....and now is trying to cover his tracks.

I think Hooper is probably close to the truth, and that is what I thought as well when this story surfaced yesterday.
