GD's passing offense was like the Pats' passing offense in a way. Passing decisions were made dependent on what the opponent's pass defense was allowing. Short passes. Receivers that weren't too physical and weren't too tall. Pass receivers had to learn how to get open and the QB had to know when opportunities in the defense arose.Don't think the offense is really that complicated. What I believe they do exceptionally and better than almost any team in the NFL is they create mismatches and will constantly pick on those mismatches and they do it with all of their receivers, TEs, and backs with various formations. The other thing and I cannot remember what play it was exactly but Brady changed the play at the line of scrimmage to take advantage of what the defense was giving them and they had a huge gain. They are Elite in the sense that you can rarely trick or disguise coverages and blitzes from Brady and he is able to communicate with the receivers so they are all on the same page. Don't know if that is a realistic expectation with college athletes due to the time and inexperience.
The other thing that sets them apart especially with the personnel that they have it they ALL run exceptional routes. Which is where our biggest area of growth could occur
It is unfair to compare or try to emulate New England with Brady. He could quite possibly be the best QB that has or will ever have lived in our lifetime.
Again, this thread is suggesting Iowa could benefit from the Pats' offense. I'm saying offensive geniuses on this board and KF won't allow the Iowa pass offense to be like the Pats' pass offense.
