Hoosiers Kenney takes leave of absence

Hope the kid can get whatever it is dealt with and get on with his life. Hate for anyone to have troubles big enough that they get derailed in what should be the track to a good future.

Stories like this make me glad I don't waste too much time worrying about recruits. This guy was a big enough name that even I knew about him and thought we missed out on a talent. Sounds like we dodged a bullet.

Is his dad still on staff there? Since it didn't mention him, I'll assume he isn't...which might explain any "issues" he is having, i.e., he knows he blew it by de-committing from Iowa...and he ain't happy...so he's taking a "leave" from Indian to explore his options...

More like, we didn't dodge a bullet, the shooter just changed targets...

His dad took a job at Indiana State before his son got to IU. This made DK second guess his commitment to IU, but reaffirmed it in the end.

His dad head coach at Indiana state or did he go from positions coach to coordinator?

His dad is an assistant coach at Indiana State and is in charge of the defensive line.

Also David Kenney is listed at 250 not 290 on Indiana's official site so I am guessing that was a mistake?

I never understood sticking with a commit to Indiana freaking football especially after his dad left. Kevin Wilson is sketchy and has absolutely no clue about defense.

Well, well Mr Kenney nice going.

I wouldn't be too quick to say we dodged a bullet. Who knows... perhaps had he came to Iowa the situation may have been different, different events could've happened, different surroundings, etc.

Regardless, it's all a moot point now. I hope this kid gets it right in the head.………… And then decides to come back to Iowa (Boooooom, betcha didn't see that twist-lol'n)!

Where are the crow eaters that couldn't understand how we lost an Indiana kid to Indiana and their new staff when his dad at the time was on the staff at IU ? Man they were pretty ruthless.

Just a reminder not to get worked up about recruiting and just support the guys already on campus.
