Basically when Alford had interest in the Mizzou job, his camp was denying everything while Jon was told by a source close to Mizzou's board of regents that they had been talking to Alford. As a result, Jon called Alford a liar and so Steve wanted to meet with Jon. So Jon went over to Carver one day and met with Alford and Craig Neal. Lots of awkward silence at first before Alford wanted to know Jon's source, but Jon wouldn't give it up.

sounds like alford kept his cool... Jon must have given him the steady eye... Alford well known for going ape**** on people

Read Spliff's rundown. Forget the rest. Other than the two minute conversation about Uthoff's and Woodbury's wingspans. Tittilating.

It's a brutal listen except for about the eleven minutes they talk about Iowa MBB. And eight of those minuters are in thirty second lapses interspersed throughout the 50 minutes.

This was a podcast version of Lichliter basketball.

Why? The previous week was fine. This week sucked.
Besides, I thought you said all that matters is somebody dropping on this site and you stopped worrying about criticism a long time ago so spare the feined hypocrisy charge.


So if it's all right with you I'll start to listen next week and if it goes Lichlteresque again, then I'll switch to a Lichliter era game tape; I saved a couple just in case...

I don't mind criticism. I know going in we all have different tastes. What I don't like is when people go Delta Bravo with it when it ain't costing them a dime.

It has nothing to do with tastes. It has to do with content. The content was largely sucking in nature. There. Is that a little less Delta-Bravo? If so, a little less feigned indignation.

But if I need to send a dime for every time I've criticized you then I'll send you -- well, a dime.

HAHAHAHA......so you are upset for being criticized for criticizing someone else?????

This always brings me a good laughy on the interweb. The same posters who claim student athletes/recruites/coaches should have a thick skin, and shouldn't be bothered by criticism, are the same poster who get all butthurt if you don't agree with every OPINION that they have. Case in point, you want to believe that it is a FACT that the podcast sucks, and it has nothing to do with your opinion. HAHAHAHA,

FYI, if you are trying to make a point you should probably at least spell the persons name right you are trying to compare the podcast to for crying out loud.

It is Lickliter.
 


Ok, sissy fight over. I like Wolfgang. Does he go overboard sometimes? Sure, but he adds some spice. BTW, Wolfie, thanks for mentioning me on the podcast. (Peter Buckets);)

1)I've been really surprised by Uthoff. He doesn't look rusty to me at all.
2)I'm slightly concerned with 3pt shooting, but not overly so.
3)After watching MSU/UK & Duke/KU last night, this team is going to be shooting a ton of FT's!
4)Mike Gesell seems to be struggling to find his niche with this team right now. I'm not worried, though. He'll get there.
5)Peter Buckets is really struggling with defense. But so does every freshman scoring machine when they reach college. They haven't had to play defense before. FM & company will get him there.
6)My most surprising player is GO. I really was excited to see what he could do this year after seeing how much progress he made last year. I could tell he had a very high ceiling and so far he hasn't disappointed. He is really going to push Woodbury for playing time.
7) Finally, I can't agree with you Jon, that JO is a good shooter. Good shooters shoot good. And he doesn't. Yes he could be a good shooter, but until he proves it, he isn't. That doesn't mean I'm glad he's out. The only thing I'm glad about is that he'll be back. He has a role to play on this team. Just not behind the 3 pt line.:p

Based off of what?

He is 1/9 from the floor so far and plays far worse defense than Woodbury.

Sure he blocks a lot of shots but thats about all he has shown so far this year.

Based off his ability to defend and his ability to change the game when he is in there. Also based on the amount of PT he got on the overseas trip. I believe he will push AW for playing time.

Go has scored 8 pts so far and AW 9. Looking at scoring after 2 games is not telling me much.

In the "it's not plagiarism if you link to it" category, take a look at this: Gabe Olaseni.

"....his rebound rates on both sides of the ball were better than Aaron White's, his foul rates were better than Adam Woodbury's, and his eFG% was the best on the team."

"His work on the glass and ability to spell Woodbury for long stretches means 15 minutes a game. It'll be fair to wonder at times whether Olaseni's actually the best 5 on the team, and though he and Woodbury bring different strengths to the team, the gap between them continues to diminish."

Stopped reading here. Gabe is Iowa's worst post defender unless McCabe is down there, which shouldnt happen anymore.

White, Basabe and Woody are much better all around defenders than Gabe.

Blocked shots dont make a good defender.

Weak. I don't remember me complaining about criticism or saying it was a fact the podcast sucked because it was my opinion that it sucked. Really you shouldn't need to make a strawman to make a legitimate point. You're better than that.

Pfffttt. I specialize in strawman arguments, and this was not one. JD pointed out your beef was about your taste in shows. You specifically responded that no, it is a matter of content and the content sucked, therefore nullifying any argument about taste/opinion.

You really should be more aware of what you post, or at least just go back and read it.....
