Hoops Recruiting: Dynamite comes in small packages

Jordan Bohannon, the Linn Mar junior has offers from UNI and Drake.

Last night, he Dropped 34 points on CR Xavier, in a loss.

Jordan nailed 6 3 pointers and is averaging about 5 3's per game

Maybe you may have heard of his family name??? LOL

Jordan comes from a quality, quality family. His Dad was a Hawkeye football QB.
He can flat-out shoot the ball..........and will be an excellent Hoops teammate at some
Major college program.

I'd like to see him in Black n Gold

I'll take you avoiding my question as a yes.

I'd like to see him in the Black n Gold as a walkon, but I doubt that will happen.

Yeah, I remember about a year ago, arguing with some Rubes on another board about Drew Cook, the local QB prospect at IC REgina. I was the lone Poster arguing that he'd get an Offer. Now, he's one of the Top guys in our 2015 class........and Vogs.......don't sleep on him.

Jordan Bohannon already has offer from UNI. UNI is ranked higher than Iowa......did you miss that?
Would be no kind of stretch to offer the best sharp shooter in Iowa.

Why would I sleep on Drew Cook, he's gonna be a stud??

If the Iowa staff offered Bohannon early, and wanted him more than other players then I'd be on board. Fact is kid didn't get an offer, won't get an offer, so you can't compare him to a kid who got an early offer and committed like Cook. It would be like trying to compare Bohannon to Pemsl....but there just isn't a comparison. The staff wanted one kid, so they targeted him, offered him, and got him.....the other isn't on the radar.

BTW I thought Dileo was the best sharp shooter in Iowa?? Good thing we haven't offered him if Bohannon passed him up.

He is a junior isnt he? If so, we have 4 scholarships. Plus the remaining one for 2015. Minus the one foe Pemsl.

247 Shows Wisco is interested--if he is good enough to lay there then yeah we want him. Missed 2 of the Bohannon's lets not make it 3.

Thanks for buttressing my point, Hawkcrush. It torques me off, to NO end that we cannot seem to offer
or go after, before the BadCheezers, or UNI for that matter.

It isn't rocket surgery, or brain science for cripes sake.

I'll apply for the Seth Wallace position with the Hoops program.

GO HAWKEYES

The only one crashing and burning is your Troll. If you think adding Lohaus, Morgan, Bohannon, Dileo type players are gonna get Iowa anywhere, you need to look around major college BB, and stop drooling over Mid majors who are having their once in every 10 years type seasons. To build a consistent B1G winner you need better talent than Iowa has been getting, and 10X the talent UNI gets.

Dean-O.....my man.....
Put down the black n gold BONG Pipe for the night.

UNI is going to have a MUCH, MUCH higher seed than the Hawkeyes, with a
lot of players who COULD/SHOULD be Hawkeyes. So, yeah, fellas like yourself are going to
hallucinate about Fran getting some kids from Detroit, or some FLop from Georgia or the 99th
best guard North Wisconsin, when kids from Iowa are kicking a(** and taking names.

Put DOWN the KOOL Aid

Yep, you need trey burke-types, and kaminsky-types, and other first and second team type all Big 10 players on your team. We had a first teamer last year and still had a let down.

UNI is having a great year but most years the Big 10 gauntlet with Greg Oden-types and Conleys, etc etc would just wear down UNI and eat them up.

uihawk82.........WTF ? Greg Oden?

How about a Reggie Evans type, mixed in with a Adam Haluska, Greg Brunner,
Seth Tuttle, or McDermott, Hinrichs, Collison or Harrison Barnes.

Plenty of hoops talent in Iowa. Hawkeyes just need to quit whiffing, or ignoring it.

Dude, just slow your troll already, I'm the last guy drinking the black and gold kool aid. Fran has to pick it up a notch in recruiting, NOT slip even further by recruiting like a Valley team. Just cause UNI is having a year doesn't mean you could ever win consistently in the B1G with these players. Heck, you can't win consistently in the MVC with these players (how good was the exact same bunch last year?) Yet when your key players are Sr. you have a good year in the Valley with players like these. Tuttle, Singleton, Mitchel, and Buss are Sr. now and key contributors along with Waspun, Jesperson, and Bohannon as Jr.

UNI is a nice team this year, but they are clearly a bubble team if they are in the B1G, and an NIT team if in the Big12 or ACC. No knock against them, it just is what it is, and next year they will be right back to what they are 8 out of 10 years......a MVC team trying to make the NIT.

You are a trip duff....errrrr......I mean dude.

Once again, who would you have brought in for this years class for Iowa? Hutton (Wisconsin offer), Fleming (Memphis, Florida offers), Moss (ISU offer), Wagner (Texas Tech, Minnesota), Deleo, Bohannon. You only get to bring in 4, what 4 would you take?

This year, yes they are.

2014? UNI didn't qualify for the NCAA or the NIT. Iowa qualified for the NCAA. (I know there are those who will debate this, but they did make the field of qualifiers)

2013? UNI didn't qualify for the NCAA or the NIT. Iowa qualified for the NIT and was the runner-up.

2012? UNI was the 7th seed in the NIT, 1-1 in the NIT. Iowa was the 7th seed in the NIT, 1-1 in the NIT.

2011? UNI didn't qualify for the NCAA or the NIT. Iowa was in the second year of rebuilding from one of the worst years in its history.

2010? UNI had their miracle run to get to the Sweet 16. 2-1 in the NCAA that year. Iowa had just hired Fran and he was laying the foundation for the rebuilding.

That concludes the comparison of UNI and Iowa for all of Fran's years at Iowa.

Overall? Iowa has qualified for the NCAA tournament 23 times and the NIT 7 times. UNI has qualified for the NCAA tournament 7 times, the NIT 1 time and the CIT 2 times.

The point of this history lesson? Crow (roar?) while you can. History shows that you won't be in the tournament for another few years after this year.
