Hoops Mashup: On Gesell, Bubble, Jock and Pay the Fran His Money

I'm looking forward to finally seeing Mike play the 2 guard.. I kind of wonder how this year goes with Mike playing 2 guard all season. JO just hasn't been himself and with how well Mike has shot the production has to go up right? I also think Marble has shown he can create quite a bit more pressure at the point, and I think it's pretty clear his confidence level has drastically improved since he moved to PG. Assuming Mike can stay relatively consistent with how he has shot during the season this could catch some teams by surprise in the big10 tournament.

He played the 2 guard for about half the season when Clemmons was starting.

JO hasn't been himself? Who is the real JO then? Maybe the coaching staff has seen him in practice, but in games he has absolutely been himself until proven otherwise.

Don't start MG. Bring him in off the bench.

Start the same 5 from the last two games.

Give GO the same number of minutes. He's playing with confidence .. go with it.

Just my $.02 .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

When do we quit paying Lick? Fran and his assistants should get that money IMO. I was thinking this is the last year but not positive.

I deserve some of that cash for watching every game that was on TV during his reign......

I became violently ill several times during some games and have thought about legal representation concerning punitive and physical damage....

This is far from over.....

It's hard to know really if he's shooting like he did last year in practice or not.. but he's getting all of his pt because he's working hard on the court, getting solid looks, and playing great defense.. I watch him shoot and it's honestly baffling why he isn't knocking them down because he really does have a nice looking shot.

With that said, Mike is probably 100% coming off the bench. I can't see Fran pushing it too hard especially against NW. The interesting thing I want to see is if he stays primarily at the 2 with JO struggling all year to find his shot. Hopefully in the off season JO can learn how to deal with all the pressure he draws now with Matt gone.. That's really the only reason for his struggles that I can see.

As I posted in another thread, in regular season B10 games last year:

Ogelsby shot 17/59 from 3 in the B10 as a freshman, 29%, taking out his 6/8 against Indiana he shot 11/51 for 22%, pretty much in line with his 26% this season. It's quite possible he's just not that good of a shooter.
