Hoop Stats: White Playing Beyond His Years

he's not listed as a lottery pick as you claim

Yes, he is. In every single one of those rankings. The lottery is consisted of the teams that didn't make the playoffs. Currently, that's 14 teams. So if you're selected in the first 14 picks, you were a lottery pick. The worst of those ranking Ghost posted is #14.

The argument / debate going on here is almost comical. Zeller and White are TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLAYERS. One's a center. One's a hybrid 4 that can play out on the wing. It's like the age old argument of who's better? Jordan or Bird? Jordan or Magic? Different players. If somebody thinks Zeller is NBA ready...pass the pipe my friend. The NBA bigs will absolutely eat him alive right now. Everyone at one point was saying White needed to get stronger, put on weight, blah, blah, blah. How about Zeller? Somebody gonna try and argue he's got an NBA ready body? At the end of the day, Zeller is a tremendous college player. White is not that far behind. Give it a break and let's appreciate White for who he is. He's ours for 4 years, and he's only gonna get better. GO HAWKEYES!

You're confusing "lottery pick" with "NBA-ready". Zeller's potential is through the roof, which would get him into the lottery. But he isn't NBA-ready. They don't have to go hand in hand.

Zeller is 6'10 230 pounds. I'm sure he'll be able to put on the mass needed for the NBA and I could easily see a team taking him and working him out over the summer putting him at the weight he would need to be at.

Actually, Joakim Noah is one of the best centers in the NBA and is already at that height and weight so it's not impossible for a skinnier guy to be successful in the league.

He may be 6'10 if he squats down. Most have him at 6'11 to 7'.

Hmm that's weird I don't see Cody Zeller in either of those two?

Did they even include him in their consideration? By that I mean: do they only rate players that they think will come out? Because Cody does appear in a mock or two (in the top 14).
