Homer officiating

How is it worse than ever? Is there any evidence behind this or does it make your post seem important? Refs have always been bad and guess what, they will be bad in the future. It is the nature of the beast.

how many of you go "not him again" or "chalk this one in the loss column"
when you see Hightower is one of the ref's for a Iowa game

Since Iowa sucks I don't care if NBA officials are doing the game one can say "chalk this one in the loss column"....

Honestly my problem with refs is consistency. I don't care if you want to call the game by the book and not allow hand checking but call it that way the WHOLE GAME!

Same can be said when refs let the game get very physical then decide they need to start calling it really close the last 13 minutes of the game because the game is close.

Iowa has so many problems right now the last thing I worry about is who is officiating the game.

Refs are human and many of them are 25+ years older than the players, not as quick or in as good of shape and can get out of position at times. Also the game of basketball has gotten so physical over the past 15 years you tend to get some bad calls at times.

even when Iowa was good, with Hightower my son and I, everytime he is officiating, figure Iowa had no chance
Hightower makes the game about himself with his over doing it on calls
not to mention X-ray vision, he's the only ref that can see thru players from 30' away and overturn a call by a ref that is 5' away that has a clear view of the play

This is my beef too. Just call it the same way on both ends too. If you're going to allow someone to get away with banging in the post or hand checking or whatever, do the same thing on the other end. That UNI game was just awful, with no consistency whatsoever. I'm not proud of it but I'm more apathetic towards the Hawks than I was 5-10 years ago. Anyway, I found myself laughing at the absolute ineptitude of the officials in the game that night. Had Iowa been a contender this year I probably would've thrown my TV out the window!

that is another thing i hate about ref's if a team is bad they get few if any calls, even the obvious no calls are called against a poorer team,
