I think you're still overvaluing the quality of football in general at the high school level. I am not going to waste my time digging into it too much. The sheer number of recruits alone shouldn't be dismissed as an indicator, however.
As far as "loads of kids", depends on how you break out the numbers, per capita we do very well. But that also doesn't reflect team football, so I am not sure why you're okay with that fact in relation to your statement.
I am not sure what you mean by "Iowa plays solid football" followed up by "they play decent football in Iowa". Those two statements seem different to me.
All things considered, my point with Trevon Young remains the same. He's a 2/3 star recruit because he has surfaced to the top of a conference in a portion of the United States that has marginal saturation of high school football talent.
He'll be a good recruit for Iowa. I am looking forward to seeing him develop. It doesn't really matter what he's rated now or where he ranks now anyway. It depends on what he does with the opportunity he now has to play at the next level.
