I think we probably both knew this......I'm talking about team football. Much like Iowa has sent loads of kids to the Pros of late, yet struggled a tick on the field...they play decent football in Iowa.

I think you're still overvaluing the quality of football in general at the high school level. I am not going to waste my time digging into it too much. The sheer number of recruits alone shouldn't be dismissed as an indicator, however.
As far as "loads of kids", depends on how you break out the numbers, per capita we do very well. But that also doesn't reflect team football, so I am not sure why you're okay with that fact in relation to your statement.
I am not sure what you mean by "Iowa plays solid football" followed up by "they play decent football in Iowa". Those two statements seem different to me.
All things considered, my point with Trevon Young remains the same. He's a 2/3 star recruit because he has surfaced to the top of a conference in a portion of the United States that has marginal saturation of high school football talent.
He'll be a good recruit for Iowa. I am looking forward to seeing him develop. It doesn't really matter what he's rated now or where he ranks now anyway. It depends on what he does with the opportunity he now has to play at the next level.

I apologize for this….I think you may have misunderstood me or more to the point, I wasn't clear. I meant “Iowa†as in the university of…has sent a lot of player to the NFL yet still had middling success on the field…meaning, "having tons of D1 players helps, but not neccesarily indicative of solid fundamental football play".
Ultimately my over arching point is…after watching lots of high school football over the years Iowa isn’t greatly lacking in ability. At one time I would have agreed they aren’t even close to the same caliber, and although they aren’t Texas or Florida or Cali or even Ohio, they play a very good level of football in Iowa and our very best 3A/4A teams would be able to at least compete with similar sized teams in neighboring states.
That is ALL I’m saying……….

No problem, we were kind of going back and forth between Iowa the state and Iowa the university.
Fair enough, I think ultimately we disagree still largely on the caliber of Iowa HS talent, but we can leave it at that. I don't want to sidetrack too much from the Clown-bashing that this thread was clearly intended for originally.
