If Iowa is an undefeated B1G conference champion, then they are in. If they aren't undefeated, then they're not in. Perception, strength of schedule, etc doesn't amount to a pile of poo. There is no way that an undefeated P5 team is ever getting left out of the playoff....ever.

But we do know that if there were 5 undefeated P5 teams at season's end, the B1G would get left out...

Just throwing that out there...

Um, I have no idea what that has to do with anything, but Northwestern started with 3 bowl teams. Northern Illinois played Iowa and Utah, 2 bowl teams. Hell, I think maybe Iowa State played 2 bowl teams bince their first game got cancelled.

Depends on who from the B1G and other conferences. If it's Utah or West Virginia against Ohio State, the B1G is safe. If it's Iowa versus Oklahoma, Alabama, Clemson and USC, yeah, the B1G ain't going.

I guarantee in November that ISU win is going to look pretty good. I watched ISU play Oklahoma and they can put up some offense. I hate to say it, but they could be a 8 win team.

I was on Purdue's bandwagon. After 0-2 I said I had egg on my face. A poster replied, correctly, that it was a waste of egg.

After 0-3 I think I'm ready to put a bag over my head. Not that it wouldn't be a waste of a bag.
 
That's why if Iowa ever wants true respect schedule a non conf game against a real team. The isu's and Miami of Ohio and North Texas games do nothing for us since we play those same teams in conference. Of course we lose those somehow sometimes when KF is ordering the next Saturday's gum not having the boys prepared for give me's!

Just to stick to Iowa's ass the pundits would come through and leave us out if it it panned out.

Iowa has done that and it hasn't been pretty. I'm pretty sure Iowa has lost every road game against OOC BCS level teams not named ISU in the Ferentz era other than maybe one of the games at Pitt and that multiple OT thriller at Syracuse. I still have shell shock from those Nebraska games early in Kirk's tenure and the game against the U back in the early '90's.

Trust me I know! I'm just saying if the Big is weak as we our seeing then we need something to offset it. I'd try mizz, vandy or even n.dame. If for ungodly reason Iowa ran the table won the Big champ a loss to N.Dame wouldn't be a bad loss. Of course this is all speculation and slim chances but I do get tired of our non conf schedules. We're supposed to win those games and handly. Hell k.state would even be fun and different and you know as well as I those Nebby teams of the ninetys would be like playing the bamas of today so when we were really down we were playing big boys. Now that we have a little going it's patsy city.

Look, I'd rather continue with the charade that Iowa is a decent team than prove that we suck by playing real teams. When is the last time we beat a 9 win OOC BCS team? Probably Mizzou, right?
