HN Troll defined...

People aren't going to do this unless it is over the top egregious behavior. Nobody wants to be a rat.

It is on the owner of a business to set standards of client/participant/consumer that they want and or desire. It isn't upon other consumers to police other consumers behavior. That would be like telling the patrons of a coffee shop that THEY need to do something about the bum that harasses them when they are just trying to enjoy some coffee. Everyone's standard of a troll is different, but to be blunt about it, the only person's opinion that matters on this is yours, as only you have the power to ban. I can only assume then that you feel that things that Fairfax and ForeverIowan do around here are ok, since you don't seem to notice, and or do anything about it.

This is a community, your community. The members are the ones that make it. I have never, nor will I ever, read the majority of posts on the message boards. These things have always been what people make of them.

As for Farifax, he was banned last week. ForeverIowan, thanks for the tip ;) See, this works well.

Watch out for a joker named deanvogs too.

I guess you could say I'm a troll although it's the cyfans I'm trolling.
Yeah, this is where I'm at. My idea of a troll on a sports message board, is an opposing fan conducting themselves in the ways listed by the OP.
If you're on a message board of the team you are a fan of and conducting yourself in the ways above.......your just a d*i*c*K. And that doesn't include a simple difference of opinion being offered.

I've never understood why people care about who they assume to be trolls.

You're free to judge the intelligence of any post and whether or not you want to respond.

problem is people are to stupid to ignor stupidity. Herby proved this a 1000 times over.

I hit reply with quote, then copy it. Then I go to the next post I wanna quote and hit replay & quote. Type in my reply, then paste in the one I copied. There's prolly a much more efficient way to do it, but that's how I roll.

That's the only way i know how to do it.

Trolls make me laugh. They look funny and say funny stuff.

I don't get too hung up on them disrupting the conversation. Most of the time what's being said isn't that important, anyway.

I'd rather laugh.

They can get very annoying when there is a thread I'm interested in and they keep derailing it to "Seth Tuttle" or "UNI is awesome", but for the most part they provide a few chuckles which is usually entertaining. [usually]
