History lesson: Iwebema and Wegher

People can draw parallels as much as they'd like between Iwebema and Wegher based on the following little history lesson I thought that I'd share.

I can't remember precisely the year. I believe that it was either before the '06 or '07 season, however, Iwebema ended up being away from 2-a-days for some while for undisclosed reasons.

Anyhow, Ferentz respected Iwebema's privacy and didn't really share anything to the Hawkeye nation. In the end, Iwebema came back and participated plenty in the season (at least when he was healthy) ... and the rest is history.

I hope the punchline is clear.

Also, FYI, I'm not saying that Iwebema and Wegher were absent for the same reason. However, their very respective absences still drove Hawkeye fans into a bit of tizzy.
 


Hmmm... History lessons have mixed results. Usually when we don't have any knowledge of something (Iwebema had a health issue) it's not good. What about the Kahlil Hill history lesson? He missed camp and we didn't see him until the following season...
 


If we all take the approach that we won't be seeing "He who shall remain
nameless" until we see him which may not be this year then life will be much easier for everyone. Until that time "next man in"

That was a punishment for Kahill. PEDs.
 


Wegher is a player of higher interst than Iwebema was but there are similarities. Kirk was just on radio and spoke briefly about Wegher. Simply paraphrased "he has left the team and may return".
 


I also don't understand why so many Iowa fans think it's somehow their right to know what is going on.

Wish him well and F'ing move on until he or KF feel the need to share any info.

Get real. We are talking about a player who had a pretty good freshman year that is currently not with the team and we've not received one word why(just speculation for the most part). This isn't any different than what happens all year long on these sites. Fans tend to think everything about a player is their right to know. Are a player's grades really any of our business? How about their personal weight gaines or medical issues? How about criminal charges that are brought against them?

I'm amazed at the hypocritical outrage on this topic. So many people trying to take the metophorical high ground. I think it's a bit late for that.

The simple answer is NO.
They don't even though they'll say they spend their hard-earned money on tickets and whatnot. Fact is it's not really your right to know....at all. No.....there are no special circumstances.

Plain and simple, no.

Homer dont feel bad, i will probably get the hammer too, because Jon must make an example of us all. But i dont know if it counts as an official statement or not, but per DJK Facebook #3 is out due to contract negotiations. (Which i believe he is joking about)

mac, don't know about you, but i'm really looking forward to the day after our bowl game when DJK gets let loose from the doghouse.
