Well, my 8 yr old boys now know what Hilton Magic is. They were getting pretty confident & cocky watching the first half and I kept telling them IA State still have a couple runs in them. Now they know.

My Questions:
1) You have a team that is not running the O or shooting well in the 2nd half. How do you leave a timeout at the end when you could have come up with a decent set play. Lazy coaching?? It's one thing if they were in a groove & was a close game, but they were so disconnected in the 2nd half.
2) Enough with Gessel dribbling around for 20-25 sec then trying to hope for a decent shot. Move/pass the ball around.
3) How does a Div I b-ball team not get the ball in bounds on two consecutive plays? Div I people.
4) Here's my biggest point. How do you not somehow do something to get Uthoff involved or in a rhythm in the 2nd half. IA St. did a good job of taking him out of his game, but c'mon, post him up or have him drive to try to get him in rhythm again. At least try to get him to the line to knock down a couple shots to get him going. They did nothing to help get him going. Post his azz up. He has the length and is the best at creating a shot of some kind.

F Hilton Magic. Makes me want to gag every time I hear it. We lost that game on our own. Well see how magical it is in upcoming years with prohm queens recruiting. They'll be lots of kisses blown their way.

1 - Lazy is probably the last word I would use to describe our coach.
2 - Agreed. And when we do set up this way I would like to see what Clemmons can do.
3 - Agreed.
4 - Uthoff was double teamed a lot...less when they realized the officials were going to allow Thomas to body him a lot. Uthoff should learn from this and the team will likely adjust moving forward.

that is what the magic wants you to think

#4, man. #4..........smh

I've been to many games in Hilton and Jack Trice, and I have always, alway come away with the same impression. ISU fans are the least knowledgeable fan base on the planet. Clowns simply booooo like a petulant 4 year old child when a call is made, doesn't matter if it is the right call or not.

I was at the Texas vs ISU game several years ago and Texas blocked a punt. The whole crowd was going crazy and they were booing the refs. I looked at my normally sane ISU friend and said "dude they blocked the punt, what are you booing". He stopped booing for 5 seconds to tell me that the punter was roughed BEFORE the punt was blocked, that it was an obvious penalty, then he went back to booing the play with the rest of the stadium.

Amen to that. Cyclone fans are morons. Jok gets poked in the eye and goes down. The Cyclone fans boo like someone slapped their grandma. Classy!

When you think about it, claiming your victory was preserved by some type of corny magic, when you're the No. 4 team in the country playing at home against an unranked team - that's pretty pathetic.

That's still not a reason to give up a 20 pt lead, especially for a Div I team. They should know how to bring it home.

Amen, brother. The game was won. All they had to do the last minute is not **** it up. There was no hilton magic, it was just good old Hawkeye incontinence.
