Highlights from London

Holy 3 point barrage from Oglesby.

And man, the Big O is explosive. I hope that continues. That has got to be so much fun to do that in front of his family.

I saw the second half of the Wednesday game.

All in all, I think the hawks looked good. Very sloppy play all around, I think that's to be expected of a game like this (especially this time of year). The other team was quite athletic and had some long bodies, but they were pretty bad.

They reminded me of a D-league team, but I realize that's a terrible comparison because D-league teams are probably really good. D-league teams would destroy Iowa. So I guess I'm just saying this team reminded me of a bad pro (semi-pro) team.

Jok looks really good. I don't need to go on about his shooting ability, the stats tell the story there. But his presence is great. By that I mean he is very much under control. Is not rattled, very level headed, game is not too fast for him. That might be irrelevant though, wait till he sees a hostile big 10 crowd.

At the same time, it seems that he isn't always perfectly positive and upbeat towards teammates. For example, when a big guy awkwardly throws him a pass that he's not expecting, he surprisingly catches it and sort of stares down his teammate with a bit of an attitude. I think that might be a outcome of his adolescence always being the best player on teams full of guys that can't play at his level. I wouldn't describe him as "having an attitude" though, just subtle things.

Aaron White looks good, explosive, very involved in the game at both ends. Didn't see much from Basabe, Uthoff, Mccabe, Woody. As in, I didn't really see them do anything in the bball I watched, not that they look bad. In fact they all look great physically. The team seems to be in really good shape.

And lastly, I think Marble is so confident/swagged out that he's sort of on a different level from anyone else on the team. That's meant as a compliment, not a question of his character. And on that note, I watched the 2nd half and didn't really see him shoot the ball. That's in part because he sat for most of the second half, but IMO there also seemed to be a theme of getting the other guys (role players) involved. I was very pleased to watch that, especially since the "other guys" were hitting shots.

Liked seeing Og shoot the ball well. Games like this there are going to be lots of dunks, drives, fast breaks, and sloppy play. The thing that I think can carry over well to real life is who is shooting the ball well.

When they win 107 7 72 I don't know what more you want. Should they have scored 150? 200?

It's August for heaven's sake!

Haha I'm completely pleased/encouraged from what I saw. I don't think what I wrote was very critical, just analytical. My point was this: I was luckily to be able to see them live and I thought people might want to hear some opinions other than a box score.

I'm very satisfied with how they played. The score says it all. Against professionals none the less

Temple and Alabama each lost by 30 in the first two games in France. Competition is getting much tougher!

One of the few london lions with a wikipedia page, went to snow college in the United States. Which is a juco somewhere in Utah. Idk what this says about competition level, but it says something. Wouldn't read too much into these games other than it's a team building exercise.
