High school all decade team

WOW, this is tough to do!! Just at quick glance this is what I came up with for Iowa. Most of these guys moved weights so I kind of tried to make them fit. This isn't necassarily the best as I gave some extra props to 4 time champs...

103-TJ Sebolt
112-Bart Reiter
119-Matt McDonough
125-Mack Reiter
130-Dan Leclere
135-CJ Ettelson
140-Nick Moore
145-Trent Paulson
152-Ryan Morningstar
160-Brandon Mason
171-Jay Borschel
189-Trey Clark
215-Mike Humpal
HWT-Matt Fields

Solid lineup and I think you have to slant it to 4 timers, if we're discussing best high school team and not taking college results into account. Tough thing to do and why I didn't venture one myself, being out of state for the last 15 years I just haven't seen the guys as much first hand.
That non-blair NJ team listed on TOM is pretty impressive.

I would take that team to the NCAA tourney any day!

No kidding. Could you imagine if they put the Blair wrestlers in there too? Yikes!

I'd put Slaton on that list over one of Reiters. If he were a 1A wrestler he would have had four too. I may be biased though.

Also, since Trey Clark only wrestled for 3 or 4 months of the last decade, I would have replaced him with Akeem Carter.

Don't see how jesse sundell from ogden can't be mentioned on this list specially with ettelson being on there. Kid only lost one match in his career pretty impressive. Granted he had a tough time in college but he was a D1 qualifier.

Slayton was a four time finalist right? Losing to Borschel as freshman, and winning it his jr/sr year. Who beat him his Soph year?

I agree. Of course there are good kids in 1A and 3A, but the depth of 3A over 1A isn't debatable. There are many more good kids in 3A.

of course there is its not debatable because of their pick of the litter.

i do think though over the years 1A has produced some of the best wrestlers not going to get in a heated debate but just think 3a puts good teams together and not individuals

im from a 1-a school too so im bias
