Hey, Kirk was on the Dan Patrick Show today

Frankly, I'm a little surprised that he didn't have Jamie Pollard on (or at least make reference to him). The article yesterday in the DM Register based on his interview was really interesting. Pollard actually verbalized a few things that I've not heard any other coach or AD say. For instance, he acknowledged that they may consider admitting fans based on donor level. He even put a dollar value on letting the people in the suites attend.
that would be a very cyclone thing to do.

Not that the Iowa Athletic Administration would care, but if Iowa did that it would be the end of my season ticket purchases. Hopefully, Barta has some flunkie reading these posts.

Dan Patrick got on his good side with all the "way back" references. Then, he snuck the Cleveland question in. I thought the interview might turn sour at that point. Does anybody really still care about what might have been with the Cleveland job?
About the only thing you could guarantee with the Cleveland job would be he would not be in it today.

Yeah that's DPs style. I enjoy it actually. Being able to go back to 1981 to the present back to the early 00s. It almost felt like he was testing KF but not really. Shoot KF pretty much rattled off Pitts roster from that season. And he can do that for probably most of the yrs he's coached. He's absolutely uncanny with his memory. Everyone was so infatuated with the Rams coach being able to rattle off plays like he can (and rightfully so there's nothing easy about that either) But KF has decades of all sorts of past football knowledge rattling around in his head.

Yeah. I thought KF was closer to taking the Jacksonville gig then the Cleveland one but my memory could be fuzzy on all that. He pretty much said getting to raise all his kids in the same HS and coach 3 of his sons at Iowa was why he stayed. How many D1 coaches can say anything like that? He has like 5 kids doesn't he?

KF wasn't one of those guys who was going to chase the greener (money) pastures and sacrifice job security. Especially once he'd been at Iowa as an assistant and knew what Iowa was all about and already liked it. I mean I wonder how much more $ and what kind of job would it have taken because in the realistic world it didn't seem like it would've ever happened looking back now. Him leaving would have been more Iowas call so long as they wanted him.
