I've been posting regularly on 247 for some time, and the now defunct Hawk Central forum before that, and actively reading posts on HN for a few years. With 247 floundering a bit, I hope you don't mind if I jump in and join the fray occasionally.

Gaslighting is a tactic in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality. It works much better than you may think. Anyone is susceptible to gaslighting, and it is a common technique of abusers, dictators, narcissists, and cult leaders. It is done slowly, so the victim doesn't realize how much they've been brainwashed. For example, in the movie Gaslight (1944), a man manipulates his wife to the point where she thinks she is losing her mind.

Damn, this is a major breakthrough, my wife has been gaslighting the crap out of me for years and I didn't realize it. It's not about getting things done with her...it's about getting things done when she wants them done. She's gotten to a point where a slight raise in her voice/tone triggers a Pavlovian response from me to do whatever she wants.

And I thought it was all because I was worthless and lazy. Thanks dude. One last question, can we have them imprisoned for Gaslighting. I'm pretty sure 90% of women would be in jail if that is the case.

Basically the same, without the #1. When the forum went down, I believe it was Harleyhawk who found 247, and we all moved on over.

Now don't go jumping to conclusions that you are not worthless and lazy just because your wife gaslights you. It sounds like you are very well trained to me. Hopefully you get rewarded for your effort.
