The teams have 72 hours to come to an agreement on a new date, time and location. If no agreement can be reached in 72 hours, the commisioner's office will decide for them.

With Indiana refusing to play in Indy on Wednesday, if I'm Iowa I am not looking to accommodate IU in any way, shape or form. Iowa shouldn't have to travel back to IU on the 27th to play 3 games in 5 days.

This.

If our AD willingly agrees to travel back to Indiana, then we should find a new AD. I say wait it out and have the conference decide.

And what do you think Delany will decide? To help out the blue-blood program and screw over Fran? That would be my guess.

I'm fine with that. I just don't want Iowa to give in. Put that on the conference, not on Iowa being overly accommodating when IU is in the wrong.

I think Delany will be all Iowa in this situation. Indiana is going nowhere this season. Iowa is going to be representing the B1G in the NCAA Tournament. My guess is his "big picture" view will work to Iowa's favor.

Indiana might be a basketball power house, at least historically, but they are not a blue blood program. Let's not forget football pays the bills in the B1G.

Agreed. If IU wants us to travel back to that **** hole to play a game during a critical stretch...especially after IU turned down playing in Indy tomorrow, then our AD should NOT give an inch here.

Worst case is that the game is played as IU wants it to be. Best case, the game is played in Iowa City. Somewhere in the middle will occur.

Better be a fair compromise to Iowa, considering they are 'in the hunt' and IU isn't going anywhere.

Worse case is Iowa/we continue to p!ss and moan, go back and *lose* at IU.

That my friends, would suck.

I agree with this. Barta's job over the next 3 days should be to avoid Glass's phone calls unless he is calling to schedule a game in IC. Iowa has the advantage in this situation. It is in the B!G interest to ensure that Iowa is treated fairly.

You guys have a lot of optimism. No way will Delaney nor Barta do what's best for Iowa. Without a doubt, we will get hosed in this deal.

I would bet that Delany is in the middle of this decision before the 72 hour window is up. If Barta hasn't been in his ear about this already, I'm disappointed. Delany should tell the two sides what his decision would be if the two leave it to the B1G to iron out. That will help settle the situation. I would hope Delany takes a strong stance about declining to use a perfectly good arena the next night with little inconvenience and forces IU's hand little bit. I think he'll be in on the talks so both schools can save face and not look like either had to "take it" from the B1G.

They should wait until March 10 to play the game, and play it only if it has Big Ten title implications or would have an impact on seeding for the Big Ten tournament.....

So you're advocating, if there are no standings or seeding impact, to forego the game?

Interesting thought.

No win situation for Iowa anyway. That scenerio, for the reasons listed, makes sense.
