Here's an idea to change the mojo for Hawkeye hoops

START FREAKIN GABE OLASENI!!

Wow, what a novel idea

Woody can come off the bench and dominate from there.

GO HAWKS !!!

HI, I get your drift, but consider this. If you started GO, that means our bench would be Woody, Sapp, Uhl, and JO. Who is the scoring going to come from? Perhaps starting GO to begin the 2nd half; we obviously need a jump start to our 2nd half.

*facepalm* What do you hope to gain by starting Gabe? He's already scored 18 pts in each of the last 2 games. Does it now up to 40 cause he's "starting"?

You sound like a soccer mom.

I'd be willing to bet this has been discussed within the coaching staff. Plus, GO said after the Nebraska game that he likes coming off the bench and one of his goals for the year is to be the 6th man of the year.

The article in the DSM Register today hints at line up changes to start the 2nd half. I don't see the starting line up changing but have a hunch Gabe starts the 2nd half...doesn't change that 6th man status he wants.

Gabe Oleseni has stated he likes to watch the game from the bench the first few minutes of a game to look for tendencies. I don't think he really cares. Who knows, maybe he just says this because he is not starting & it's easier to swallow, I don't know. I like both players but I'd like to see Oleseni play more, just because, well, he's just enjoyable to watch & watch his style of play.

Ya pretty much this, nice guy Gabe.

Here is a better idea:

Coach Woodbury, White and Uttoff into having a post presence. At least try to post someone up a couple times during the game. White already shoots a ton of free throws so he will get some extra fouls down low...Woodbury has had a few games where he has been successful posting up (Tennessee last year)....Woodbury is a decent passer so it would be beneficial to do something in addition to just settling for 12 foot jumpers. Jared can use both hands well so he should be able to be a threat down low. He just needs some experience doing it.
