Complete jerk. We're now seeing Bo's true colors and they aren't very pretty.
This is the same "win at all costs" school that is taking 4th year kids from other schools and having them start at quarterback. The bottom line is as long as it is about winning, everything's ok. But if a kid is struggling, screw the kid. That is the bottom line at Wisconsin. It is a big meat market. Horrible that the AD is letting this happen.....shocking

Ryan comes across as vindictive coach. I can understand (sort of) that a player can't transfer within a conference, but there is absolutely no reason to come up with this other list. What, is the kid gonna share "insider information" and be able to take out Wisky when the two teams face each other?
The bottomline is Ryan is extending this PR nightmare by contradicting his opening comments about 'hey, if it's not working and the kid wants to leave ... so be it' (summarizing here) ... But then he goes on and offers a lame excuse about why he is making the kid go through the appeal process and why he expanded the "no transfer" list schools. Ryan lost this PR battle. Let the kid leave. Coaches do it all the time with absolutely no reprocussions. A 19 year old kid should be able to attend a different school and not be punished for choosing to do so ... Having worked in communications/pr/media relations for 15 years, this was and is a major, major fail by Ryan. His biggest mistake ... making a bad situation worse ... Shut up already Bo ... and let the kid transfer ...

Ok this afternoon on Around the Horn and PTI, the ESPN gang got one more bite at the Bo Ryan apple after the news of Wisconsin's final decision to lift the restrictions on all but league schools. The verdict?....this just in...Bo is still a jerk. They gave him one last solid verbal beating before moving on....and Wilbon credited public opinion and Mike and Mike for inciting a near public riot which was needed to rein in the power-drunk Bo and Badgers. Well done listening public. Nice job Bo.

I understand not wanting kids to go to schools within the conference as I think most do. This situation is overboard, Ryan tries to hammer the point that "other" coaches have more transfers and restrictions, but really stumbles over why he has done this.
The question that they ask is why put so many restrictions? No answer other than his "teflon"/"deflector" attitude about other programs. He definitely comes off as someone that is vindictive and a control freak.
Anytime a coach restricts kids from going to teams other than their own conference, it is simply a joke to me. Much like Seth Greenberg when he never released a player from his LOI after the shooting at Virginia Tech. Integrity is thrown out the window in these cases. If the kid doesn't want to be there, just let them go. Bo also cracked me up when he spoke of how much time is dedicated to that player...ok, that has no bearing on anything, that is just part of the risk/reward of recruiting a kid.

From a conference stand point, keeping the talent in the league isnt a bad thing. Why let the MVC, or wherever Uthoff goes, improve their talent, if the player wants to stay in the league.
