The elephant in the room is Pat mccaffery can’t play at this level. In fact, the team is an assemblage of role players being asked to start. Fran’s issue from day one has been recruiting. He’s never had guards. Never recruited a real pg, doesn’t get wings that can defend or drive. He’s shown some ability to find bigs and develop them. Same with stretch forwards, but it’s a guards game and unbelievably he doesn’t get this concept.
He got incredibly lucky with the Murray boys. I’ll give him credit for luka. Weiskamp also fell into his lap. Recruiting is his primary issue…especially in the guard court and his complete lack of awareness with the issue is alarming
