Hawks up to #27 in AP Poll

I don't care about polls , Theyre BS . If i remembered last year we were ranked and we started to lose so bad at the end of the season. This year , dont worry about the polls . Get thru the B1G seasons first and then BTT then NCAA's then we'll worried about that.
 
Must win at least one game this week, but two would be nice. Reason two is important because the rest of January is pretty tough.

I just wanna kick MSU's a$$ on Thursday, and I mean bad....they need to put Izzo in his place......(I have my angry face on right now)
 
Being in the top 25 isn't that important in the sense that it isn't always telling of how good a team actually is and what their chances are of getting into the tournament at this point in the season. What it is important for is recognition and publicity for the program that in turn helps sell tickets and helps recruiting.

I for one would much rather see this team win the next two and be ranked than split them and not be.

5 seed is way too high. Weren't we not even in his latest bracketology and now, we get a decent win on the road and we go up to a 5? And MSU is in the play-in game? It's really possible Iowa and MSU exchange those places by the end of the year.

Hope I'm wrong, of course and we stay highly seeded but...
 
This team is just outside the Top 25, (with a Bullet) and yet some fans were jumping
off buildings, just a week or so back. Remember ??

Exactly cannot beat the publicity of being a top rated team. All the talking heads are talking about your team win or lose when in the top 25.

For where Iowa is as a program, being ranked (even if it's for a short while) is a semi-big deal. When/if you are ranked, ESPN shows highlights of your games, increased exposure, plus you can go out and say it's 2 straight years where you have been ranked during the season. Winning games in the NCAA tournament is a bigger deal, but getting ranked is better than going unranked all year.

I was shocked when I saw this on the CBS site a few minutes ago. As much as I wish it were so, there's just no way we should be two seeds higher that the clowns...or even ahead of No. Iowa for that matter. The CBS dude must use Obama-type mathematics to get us ahead of them.

I have no problem with rankings, but seedings this early are just stupid. I hope it turns out to be true, but based on the season's performance to date ISU is clearly above Iowa, I hate them and hope they lose every game the rest of the year...but as of right now only an idiot would say we deserve a higher seed than them.
 
Anything that will bolster this team's confidence is a good thing right now. They can be as good a team as the believe they can be.
 
Iowa just got picked to finish 3rd on BTN. Amazing what 1 win can do. Man do I want to be 3-0 at the end of the week!

Same here..but we are Iowa fans and let's be real. We will most likely lose a heartbreaker tonight and get beat by Sparty Thursday in usual fashion. It only seems fitting.. God I hope I'm wrong.

Getting a nice win vs the Cornholers and starting the Big Ten at 2-0 for the first time in over a
decade is definitely a Good thing

Nebraska, is a dangerous team and will get a few wins, yet this year.

Hawkeyes did a really good job on Pettibon? whatever......
