Hawks not even on bubble next year

If you exclude his first year, Painter is averaging 25 wins a year at Purdue. With a very good recruiting class coming in, I'm not ready to move them to the lower half of the Big10.

I wouldn't sweat it. Joe Lunardi is all about chalk and trying to look good. Not like he's going to look outside the box and take a chance on a pick at this point.

Oh man! ISU in and Iowa not even on the bubble? Quick, everyone make lots of threads about it and then claim not to care about ISU and that they aren't trolling.

Hey, all I suggested is we split with Minny and the 4 games with IU, OH ST and MI ST... impossible?

2 years in a row at Kohl is a reach but IOWA will be better than last year and Purdue won't be. The question is will OH ST, MI ST, and MI be better or fall off a bit? If 1 of them falls off a bit ... IOWA is a lock for a winning record in the Big TEN and a lock for MM.

with the classes they are bringing in I doubt they fall off. and although they lose some of their leaders, they are keeping a bunch of talent around.

They lost Hummel,Smith,Jackson and Barlow off their starting team.
They return Matt Carroll,Terone Johnson(cannot shoot a jumper)Anthony Johnson and DJ Byrd. They add some frosh but no one as highly ranked as Woody.
Iowa returns 4 of top 5 scorers. Purdue loses 4 of top 5 scorers.

Purdue is being included based on reputation alone. As Jon indicated, they beat only teams below them, basically. Time for a drop.

This needed its own thread...not well played, Mauer...in fact, E2...

You got me all wrong! I'm saying that we need MORE threads, on top of this thread on the topic, so we can have the same man-boob contests between the Lunatic Fringe led by Hawkeye Mike vs. The Troll Invasion.

Joe Looonardy is a tool. He lost all respect when he joined ESPN... had a little when he was still with the College Blue Ribbon pub.

I agree with those who already have said that Purdue is toast this coming year and may be back the following year. Why all the love for Wisky (at 4?) good chance that Iowa will sweep them again.

Iowa will compete against everyone next year including OH ST, MI ST, and IU. They will win a couple of those matches against those teams.

Michigan has a great class coming in but will struggle with chemistry and outside shooting.

Minny is scary, however, and hopefully Iowa can split.

Unless Iowa has several injuries, a death, or some horrible off court incident... they are a LOCK for the 2013 NCAA tourney. Mark my words.
I am going to have to go with Aaron on this one.....

I, however, do not believe we will win at Ohio State, with or without Sullinger. I can see a split with Minnesota and Wisconsin, although, who knows, we certainly are in their heads after last season. They were humiliated being beaten by the Hawks, not once, but twice.....

Don't think we will win at Michigan and the Spartans will be a handful, however we play them well at Carver, and owe them, BigTime, for the WildBullThugBeatDown in Lansing.....

All the other games are winnable, and we have the road loss jones off our backs.....

Other than that, we win the rest......

Or we don't.....

:)
