Hawks Lose on Last Second Field Goal

I was at Kinnick today. Anyone else notice the overall apathy in the stands? It was kinda like "ho-hum another 3 and out/another 3 down pass that wasn't quite enough for a first down/another run up the middle that got stuffed/another pass that wasn't close to anyone/and yet another loss on a horrible season."

I was there, and yes you are right. The fans have come to terms with what this team is.... bad.

I'd much rather have apathy than booing. That said, I've sat through a lot of games at Kinnick, and I really miss the good times of Iowa Football. As it is now, I don't have the emotional connection to it. It used to rip me to shreds walking out of the place after a loss. This year, its no big deal because I halfway expected it.

Fan apathy is a byproduct of a bad football team/performances, and uncertain outlook for the future.

I don't have a problem with them not punting. I have a problem with the playcall and having the primary read running a 1 yard pattern on 4th at 3 with the game on the line. Not to mention it was called for Derby who has 5 (??) catches on the year.
All 4 downs at that time were terribly called plays and terrible execution of terrible plays. Incredibly stupid and enept.

It seemed to me that they were out of Meyer's range especially with the wind in his face. They called a pretty boneheaded play anyway, might as well punt there make Purdue go 15-30 extra yards. Just a thought.

That makes no sense, you don't punt from 35 yards out with 40 seconds left and a tie game, never.

What you do is call a play that makes sense, makes sure your ******** QB throws the ball beyond the sticks or not at all and if that dosen't work you don't let the other team move the ball all the way to the other end of the field in two frickin plays.
