Vision is probably the most important thing.
Break away speed is only good in space, once through traffic. (I'm talking about running from a hand off, not catching and running).
A rb with vision can turn 2-3 yards into 8-10 yards consistently.
Plus from Te, lb, rb and a lot of positions I think you will see that the 40 time is not very much in variation. Wadley 4.54 Shonne Green 4.62
In comparison to some that have given us fits
Taylor Martinez 4.47
Jonathan Taylor 4.42
Fact on ESPN one class lists best to worst running back 40 time. With 4.32 being the best and 5.32 being the worst.
Point is you can be very very good and extremely effective running anywhere from a 4.4 to about a 4.7 (4.6 would be better).
Not surprising, as I said lots of players in lots of positions have somewhere in that speed.
It's tough to get up to 200-225 and run a 4.4.
Usain Bolt who tied the NFL record at 4.22 is 6'5 and 207 pounds. So basically if you can run a sub 4.4 you are probably training to run and not play the foosball.
