The class features three position players: Garrett Luett (SS, Council Bluffs, Iowa), Gavin DeJesus (SS, Waukee, Iowa) and Luke Manderson (OF/RHP, Jacksonville, Fla.).

In addition to Manderson, Iowa signed four pitchers: Ryan Stedman (RHP, West Des Moines, Iowa), Carson Crider (RHP, Wake Forest, N.C.), Kaleb LaFavor (RHP, Sioux City, Iowa), and Brooks McCarty (LHP, Orange City, Iowa).

Just a couple comments, seen them both play ball extensively and McCarty for the past 12 years ish since youth ball...

Luett plays for Underwood, open enrolls. Van Fossen has a ridiculously good program there.

McCarty is a good pitcher, and Heller is obviously a damn good evaluator, but for anyone looking at stats on Bound etc. he plays in the Siouxland conference which is probably the softest baseball conference you're going to find. Both guys have similar pitching stats but it's way lopsided comparing the two in terms of HS competition.

McCarty is a high 80s, cracking into very low 90s lefty right now, I don't think if he was a righty he'd get near the attention. Gonna have to grow and get a lot more velo to be successful at that level...pretty small kid, definitely small as pitchers go. Sucks for him that's the one thing you can't change is your height and wing span.

Of the two Luett is gonna be a dawg.
