Just wanted to open this thread up to see what everyone thinks.

Who do you think has the best chance to start or see significant time next year as a freshmen on this football team? Personally, It is hard for me to tell but I wanted to see what you guys think and maybe you'll change my thought.

I think one of the wide receivers breaks through about halfway through the season. Probably after a couple other wide receivers leave the team or get injured.

Last I heard, derKirkFer / G.d.G.D are still coaches. Is this a trick question about freshmen playing?

I don't see anyone that stands out in a position of need, to be honest. The truth is, we have depth coming back at most positions, it just isn't very talented. Since I don't see an obvious upgrade in talent in this class, I would guess that injury will have to play a part. Can't predict that.

I think the only players that see time are the Lb group, and that would be mostly on special teams. Maybe a Falconer or Smith at WR as well. Other than that is is OL and DL heavy class and those guys usually need 2 years to be ready.

I'm going with Derrick Willies...big Spring game. I'm thinking he see significant time. Big body, speed, athleticism.

Sorry, just a cut and paste from last year. Do you still have hope in this area? Cub fan too?

I'm going to go with one of the WRs that we have coming in. Opposite of Tevaun Smith, I don't see any excitement or much talent at WR.

I would be shocked if any freshmen WR see significant playing time. It doesn't matter how talented they are as Willies showed.

I don't see any of the newcomers having much of an impact this year. If any I would guess Daniels and that would be only in the case of injuries. I just don't think any of the players are physically developed enough. In any event my hope is KF doesn't blow redshirt years by giving players a handful of plays which seems to be a recent trend of his.

I am going with Jake Newberg. Even his new incoming classmates (Paulsens and Waechter) said that he is "way ahead" of them physically. Sounds like he was offered a scholarship on the spot at a camp a year and a half ago when he was regularly whipping up on the incoming freshmen and H.S. seniors he was going against.

Will it be OLine or DLine? I suspect he gets a chance at DE... just a guess. Probably the kiss of death from me ... I was convinced Ngoumou was the real deal a few years ago.

The OL have the best shot. Maybe one of the LB recruits to get some Raider Package work.

The DL recruits are way too small right now. They need a year or two in the program. We all know NM on the outside at 240lbs really got abused this year, so having kids come in at 215lbs just isn't going to cut it to start.

We are all talking about the RB recruit, but he has three guys he'd have to beat out. And probably a few Fullbacks before he see's the field. I really want to see Daniels get carries this year. Canzeri will not hold up. And I like Wadley, but he really needs to work on his fumbling issue

I think Falconer is going to be the surprise of the class. If he's as fast as they say he will defentily get some playing time
