Hawkeyes Waste Coppin State

Iowa was 0-17 from three, were outscored 27-0 from beyond the arc and still won 80-50 over Coppin State in their final non-conference game of the year.

I want to know how many teams have shot 0-15 (or worse) and still won by 30 or more?

Just an amazing stat against anyone. Sloppy play but a win is a win.

I don't forsee 0-17 again this season, if ever. Turnovers and free throws will probably decide the Indiana game.,....

We will have to be almost flawless to beat them, and I believe we will......

Break out the Dom Perignon.,....

If the Iowa bigs don't play like little B!@#%$ like they did against Wichita st they will compete well with Indiana. Woodbury, White, Basabe, Olesani need to attack the rim with aggression every time they get the ball. Woodbury especially needs to man up and attack. Force the issue you're at home.

Its not a necessity that Iowa hit many 3s to win but they do need to continue to defend the perimeter, rebound and not turn the ball over.

That being said you can't take anywhere near 17 3s if you are shooting that poorly. They need to cut down the 3 attempts and only shoot the open ones.

Iowa actually matches up Ok with Indiana. Clemons and Gessel are more than capable checking Ferrell and Hulls. Marlbe will have to play his arse off against Olidipo but its doable and Dev can attack him on the other end with his height advantage but I give IU the advantage there. White can guard Watford and I give Iowa the slight edge in that matchup. It will be interesting to see how Fran tries to defend Zeller. Woodbury can't guard him in man to man but Basabe has guarded him effectively before and Olesani will see some time on him too. Im guessing Fran will use mostly zone when Woodbury is in and man when Basabe/Gabe are in. Probably going to see allot more Basabe than Woody.

It will also be interesting to see how Fran attacks Zeller on O, Woodbury may be able to do some work on him on that end.

I don't see Indiana as a huge favorite in carver.

I am just not sold on Indiana being a top tier team in the country yet. Yes they handled us easy last year in Bloomington, but the same can be said on their trip to Iowa City. Iowa is by far a more balanced team compared to last year and I believe playing better team defense. I would not be surprised at all if Iowa wins.

I would. Iowa is better this year, but IU is also quite a bit better. IU may not be a top tier team, but Iowa has not faced anyone in IU's universe so far. I honestly don't know what to expect out of the Hox, because they have not been battle tested at all.

We own the Hoosiers. Beating them 5 out of the past 6 games has some meaning, even this year. We have a good chance at Carver, all bets are off at Indiana........

How does the past have any bearing on this season? We have not beaten Northwestern since February 10, 2010. Does that mean with Northwestern, all bets are off?

Perhaps not this season. We do know that we can beat Indiana and they know it also......

It will be a true test, I can't help being a helpless homer......

We can absolutely beat Indiana. It's at Carver and they lost to a team who is about the same level as we are (Butler). On the other hand, last year they dunked on us at will in Bloomington and without Gatens going insane from three, we probably don't beat them at home.

It is a fascinating game for us.

This doesn't mean much but If we win, are we ranked? I'd say no myself.

Last year has no relevance in regards to Iowa.

For better or worse, and its mostly better, Iowa is a team with a totally different make up. Even the players that are the same are playing very different roles for the most part.

In what universe are we on the same level as Butler? They have beat some excellent competition and are ranked #19.
