I'm so excited for this game. Will be a very intense and emotional game. It's very cool that they are doing this with the shirts during shootaround. Also, 11 former Chris Street Award winners will be recognized at half. From article:

The Iowa men’s basketball team will wear black commemorative patches with gold lettering “CMS 40″ on Jan. 19 to mark the 20th anniversary of former Hawkeye star Chris Street’s death.

Iowa’s coaching staff will wear replica pins also honoring Street that former Iowa Coach Tom Davis and his staff wore that season. The Street family, including parents Mike and Patty, are expected to attend.

Wow. That will be tough and amazing for the Street family. Chris, you're still loved and my favorite Hawkeye for all time. Go Hawks!

Awesome..can't wait for Devin Baiwinkle to make his triumphant return to Carver. The reception for him will be crazy.

Also looking at the list of winners, it's funny seeing Settles won it in 1994 and 1996.....and 1999.

Do you always have to be an idiot?

I hope the ceremony is outside the three point line.

Fran has embraced Iowa history and what is really meaningful to Iowa basketball. From the opening press conference to wanting former players to come back around.

For those of you that don't know, I live in Michigan and go to as many B1G games in Crisler, my wife if UM fan, but we would go to games even if UM wasn't her favorite team. We often hang around after games, he ex-boss is an usher, so we go to the floor after games to talk to him, she got a picture with Trey Burke last year, he is a little dude, but man he is good.

Belien has embraced all the former players, we have seen guys like Terry Mills and others quite a bit talking with Belien and him telling them to come around for tours of the new facility and things like that, I think it just makes sense to keep those guys involved. Crean is doing it at Indiana as well.

For those that are regular attendees at games do you see this happening at Iowa?

There have been more dedication type events with Fran than I can ever remember, love what they are doing for Chris Street, he was so much more than a basketball player.

How bitter sweet as hawkeye fans, friends and family remember a great young man and that tragic day. It also will be my wife and I's twenty-second wedding anniversary.
