Hawkeyes the team to beat for Tyler Ulis

1). So, you agree with me. If Ulis is such a great recruit, then he could wait, just like Wiggins. We don't know for sure, it's his decision to make, on his timeframe.

2). He can't be 'on the roster' but of course he could have committed (verbal) already. Potato, Potahto.

3). I said, and I quote "since he hasn't, one could assume he wants to drag it out or is wanting more time to think about it.". Notice it could be he just wants more time...selective quotation means you lose the context, bud.

4). Attitude: .

I was pointing out some logical reasons of why the upcoming season could have impact to his decision, meaning, making our chances a little better if things pan out. You decided to take it to a personal level, which wasn't really required.

Try to keep up.

haha, u mad now.

And I said Ulis WOULD NOT have the same luxury as Wiggins in waiting until the very end to decide, so we dont agree. Learn to read.

Fine...you guys win. I won't be surprised if he DOES commit this fall, but then I won't be surprised if he waits either.

I think we can ALL agree that the hawks having a good season this year will do wonders for recruiting - which really was my point before this all turned into a pizzing match.

A good season for the Hawks can do nothing but good things for recruiting. Just not the 2014 class, which was really your point until you were proven wrong.

The recruiting clock never stops, so of course a successful season always enhances our ability to recruit...the 2015 class is out there waiting to be plucked.

I will be shocked if our 2014 class is not signed, sealed and delivered by Nov 15.

I think Ulis has been on enough unofficial visits to figure out where he is truly wanted. The X-Factor is and will be MSU in this, if MSU was his dream school, I do find it somewhat shocking that he didn't say yes on the spot.

All in all, I still very much like Iowa's chances on Ulis, but if they don't get him, don't expect Fran to just settle for someone else to fill a scholarship, he has proven he won't do that.

Iowa has come leaps and bounds since Fran took over, now he needs to be able to take that next step in recruiting and get Iowa back in the places they used to thrive in recruiting, like Illinois period.

MSU fans have been saying that they are Ulis's favorite and dream school. I find that hard to believe too. To an extent. I think that the reason he hasn't committed to them if that's the case is because MSU is after 2 or 3 other pgs too. They want to get 2 pgs this class. I don't think Ulis wants to be the 6th man or be asked to play off the ball all that much. And no kid wants to redshirt. So I think if MSU gets another stud pg to commit to them I don't think Ulis will go there and Ulis doesn't want to commit to them first with the chance of them getting another pg commit after he does. So my guess is that he's going to draw it out to see what MSU ends up doing. I like Iowas chances in getting him but that can change really quick.

I did just read an article that said he hasn't seen USC or Florida State and he plans on visiting them before he decides. This doesn't concern me too much because they came in pretty late in this and one of his focal points in recruiting is having a strong relationship with his head coach. This is why I feel the only two schools in the running are Iowa and MSU as Iowa has been recruiting him for awhile and he has lots of knowledge from Walton on how Izzo is.
Still, my belief is that if MSU was his dream school he would have committed on the spot, but also MSU will be willing to wait on a bigger PG recruit, whereas I don't believe Ulis will wait, so again I like Iowa's chances in this.

Speaking of massive fail fests.

The first signing period for basketball is in November. The 2013-2014 season will have very little, if any, impact on the 2014 recruiting class. Most players sign in the first signing period.

Massive fail fest? WTF? I just had to comment on this completely uncalled for disrespect of another poster. So he didn't think through the timeline before posting. Big deal. How about just staying with the valid point you made in your post instead of the insulting crap you started with? Just sayin'.
