Hawkeyes open as 9 point favorites vs MSU

Not surprised Iowa is favored but I would have guessed more like a 6 point favorite.

But MSU is still the team that got manhandled by Rutgers. And I have a feeling they may have blew all their emotion on the big Mighigan upset. Now they got to turn around and travel to Iowa City with nothing left in their tank.

Normally I woyld expect Iowa to wear MSU down and dominate the 2 half of this game. But Iowa did not exactly dominate the 2nd half against Purdue and NW. Makes you wonder if Iowa has an endurance problem.

I bet it's down to 3 by game time.

The thing that worries me about a line like that is it is too good to be true. Like if I took it, MSU would lose their whole coaching staff and Lombardi to The Germ and Iowa would win by 14 or something.
Your right. Usually if it looks too good it usually never works out. Still be hard to not bet it.

The worst problem Iowa has ON THE FIELD is a lack of time to practice and refine the details. {Ok, n some fundamentals.} The lack of non-conf games has killed us and is taking its toll on emotions and performance. If we are to believe S. Petras, "we are almost there." If we "are there" Sat, yeah, maybe an Iowa win, but not by 9.
We will return to running the rock and controlling the clock, if possible. If we aren't "there" yet, and w/without ISM, don't be surprised if we are 0-3. MSU, minus the turnovers are a decent team. You heard it here first gents.

Bet against Iowa then, I would. I should have been betting against Iowa and the line with KF for a long time, picking and choosing because KF underperforms when favored and overperforms when the underdog.

MSU had 7 turnovers against Rutgers. I watched a fair bit of that Michigan-MSU game and if MSU plays clean, I think they'll beat Iowa by at least 2 possessions.
okeefe, you're spot on. MSU played a clean game against Wolverines & looked pretty good on defense. Lombardi played well & can move. Hawks will have to play much better against Spartans than they've played in 1st two games. I don't see Hawks winning this game unless there is a huge turnaround in their play.
