I'm sorry, I didn't see a 40 time listed.
Paging Hurby, paging Hurby.
HUGE get! Let's hope this momentum continues. It's great to be a Hawkeye, especially lately.

Amen, brother. There's a consistent flow of 9th grade boys (or the intellectual equivalent there of) on here that love to shoot off their mouth. What the hell?...
My apologies bogey. I'll divert this train back on topic.
Pretty excited about this one. It will be interesting to see how the whole QB battle shakes out over the next several years. I'm not sure I remember the Hawks being this deep at the QB position (yes I realize this kid won't be in Iowa City for awhile).
Seriously though... I think we all have all loved what we've seen from Rudock. Beathard has shown flashes of being a playmaker. Shimonek might be the best fit for the GD system out of all the QB's currently on the roster. Then when this kid arrives on campus he kind of brings a whole different dimension to the stable with his height. It's an interesting bunch. Will be fun to see how it shakes out. At least eligibility wise if each kid stays loyal to the program they may each earn their right to start as upperclassmen. Which in the end is probably what KF wants.

Everything seems to be exaggerated on this video. But there does appear to be a little something in his windup...on the above video he doesn't fully (or even partially) rotate the ball during the windup so that the leading point is aimed away from the target. He's also bringing the elbow back a little low and exploding up into the throw, which explains some of the high throws. Another explanation or rationale behind some of the throws that are higher is that he's exaggerating the weight transfer (since in the video several posts up, it isn't as prevalent) for purposes of the video. Not a deal breaker, but on some of the throws that require him to drive the ball it would help bring the ball placement down if he would drive that left elbow back through the invisible pane of glass parallel to his back.
That's nit-picking. When he wasn't trying to exaggerate his movements as much, such as in the video several posts up, his form looked different, more fluid. Pausing this video at various points to look at arm angle/placement and the ball coming off the fingers looks very good.
Wow! look! Someone offering insight instead of acting like a 12 year old cheerleader. Interesting stuff hawkfan. It's certainly not an over the top motion and I would think that his height would offset some of the low release concerns. Just definitely a different motion than you see out of most QB's.Re: throwing mechanics...

Right on cue. This is rich coming from the 2 of you.
Until Iowa went 8-4 this year you 2, along with a handful of other posters, would turn every thread on the football forum into a negative KF thread.
Now you act like people shouldnt call you out for your stupidity and should keep every thread on topic.

you are either a troll, or the biggest ******* around. i'm leaning towards the latter, but i always try to rationalize stupidity, so i throw in the troll to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Says probably the biggest d*ckhead on this entire board... classic.
cool. at least i'm genuine. i'm not a hater one day, and then all of a sudden a big fan when things 'turn around'.
Yup. Your record definitely backs that up. Bravo.
I've been very critical of Kirk at times, definitely. There are things that will always bug the crap out of me about him, but I don't think I've ever called for his head. If you can provide an example please do so. K thx.
And I've admitted I was wrong for doubting him being able to turn it around and eaten my crow. I TRY not to be a d*ckhole at least. It's like it's so natural for you though.
I don't think he was talking about you.
Guys,, he has a very strong arm. Always has. Hit my son in the head (wasn't on same field) from 50 yards away while in 8th grade football practice.
