Hawkeyes Land 4-Star 2015 QB

Great get. Let's build an awesome class. What a difference a year makes. Go Hawks

Not being a Debbie downer at all, but is it just me or is his throwing motion/mechanics very strange? Seems to short arm throw it.

huge get. huge. twitter is saying B Ferentz was lead recruiter. wow, didn't expect that kind of a get.

Motion looks pretty darn good to me for a high school junior … and at 6' 6" there won't be many D-Lineman batting his passes down with that high release point.

If it aint broke don't fix it. I hear what you're sayin' but he has a nice, short compact release that's accurate and strong....and at 6'6" he can move pretty well. I think he will be fine, great opportunity to make some huge plays when he gets here and gets some additional coaching....glad he made the choice to be a Hawkeye......great day indeed...

Well you are being a douchy downer surpassed Debbie downer with your comment. As fans don't think you need to be that critical for Christ sake the coaches evaluated him, wanted him, and we got him. He is rated a 4*, be happy.

Great kid, very athletic (good hooper), has a very strong arm and is playing against outstanding HS competition. Started as a sophomore and led Benet to semi finals after the team was 1-8 the prior season. Not asked to run much. His HS head coach is a Northwestern grad and they run a sophisticated passing scheme.

It's a hideous delivery BUT it's short, quick, and accurate! I'll take it over pretty but long and slow any day.

Great get!

Most High Schools don't have QB coaches who are smart enough to correct a players throwing mechanics.

He has pretty good footwork already. Just showing up to practice and watching JR do his thing will solidfy his footwork and probably help his throwing motion.

Tremendously accurate on his deep throws.

What excites me the most is that he hits the majority of his WRs in stride. That means if we can get a couple of burners, we could see some pretty decent YAC.
