I’m selfishly and unrealistically hoping that this Garappollo thing ends up being a Drew Bledsoe situation and that the new GOAT comes out of Iowa City.
Like why not? Why Fn not? It's year 4 for CJ he's taken his lumps it almost feels like this is where the rubber meets the road for his career. Be it in San Fran going forward or not if he can make himself valuable why can't he start? He's got the physical ability. Just the right situation and the stars aligning is what it takes.

I'm 100% on board dude. If I'm Beathard I go out there guns a fuckin' blazing because the worst thing that could happen is he stays a backup.
If he goes out there and lights it up it's going to be pretty tough for Shanahan to keep putting Garappolo out there if he's going to lay eggs. At the end of the day you need to win ball games no matter how much "your guy" is getting paid, and the Niners don't have much wiggle room left record-wise to keep doing test drives with Garappolo's ankle.

Sounds like Jimmy Gs contract is easy for them to get out from under of if they wanted to move on from him so the incentive is there for both these guys to show out. CJ is auditioning for not just the 9ers if he were to do well he'll be a FA. I'd rather he stay there for selfish reasons I'm a lifelong 9er fan and obviously with Kittle there it's a win win win for me for that to work out. But I'd be happy for the dude to get a starting gig anywhere. More importantly for him he'd like to get starting QB contract $. The discrepency between that is huge.
Is there a bigger bargain out there the Cam Newton right now? 1 million for him compared to 20 plus for about every other starter of consequence. 30 plus in some instances which he should probably be closer to getting. So yeah that's life changing dough for a guy like CJ...

I haven't found anything as far as a timetable for his return, but I did see that the injury won't require surgery. Just hope it doesn't turn into something that nags him throughout the year.
