Yes, Indeed, HH.....
I like this statement by Trey:
“I’m the kind of guard who likes to score,” Dickerson said. “But going to the next level, I’m going to have a bunch of shooters around me with Josh [Oglesby], [Gesell], and Jarrod Uthoff, so I’m really going to look to drive and kick and create. As a point guard on the Big Ten level, I’m really going to look to lead.”
And you can add Peter Jok to the mix. He won't be playing in Devyn's shadow anymore.....

Jok didn't really play in Dev's shadow. He just didn't play at all--because he wasn't ready.
I expect a good amount of improvement from Jok before next season.
That last lines of the article caught my eye. I know it's from TD's JUCO coach, but after last year, this is sure nice to hear:
Jok on defense last year, particularly early last year, was obscene. He showed some slight improvement over the season, but if he's going to get the lion's share of the minutes at the 2, he's going to need to show significant improvement, especially since Oglesby is already miles ahead of him defensively.Jok didn't really play in Dev's shadow. I don't think it's all that homerish Jack.
I think well finally have enough guys who can shoot and pass on the court at the same that everyone should get better looks.
It's so much easier to hit a 3 if you are the second or third guy getting a swing pass, feet set and wide open than it is to run off screens or shoot off the dribble.
I'm looking forward to good shots this year.

I won't mind if Brady Ellingson redshirts. I doubt he'll be an impact player right away.
Hmm a shooting guard that could possibly play in the post with a Jordanesque turnaround fadeaway J??? I'll take that. If Joks knee is healthy and he can be as athletic as he was before he tore it up good golly almighty he'll have a heck of a career. So long as he can play D. Seems like he had room for improving there... Maybe he can work on that in the PTL..... Oh snap nevermind. As far as this team going into next year goes they have quite the nice mix of spot up shooters with Jok JO and Uthoff. Ball handlers with Trey, MG and I'll throw Sapp in there. (I just have a feeling he'll be much improved not based on anything other then just he's coming back with the chip on his shoulder of a bad soph yr) And athletic forwards with Uthoff & White. Then the big guys Woody and Gabe. They'll be pretty deep next year too without any crazy noticeable weakness.Peter Jok has such a natural shot with almost perfect form. If he gets into the groove, he could be unstoppable. Sort of a fade away jump shot that would be difficult to block, especially considering how tall he is. If he and Josh are both on, it will be trouble for any opponent, making the defenders come out to the perimeter, opening things up inside.....
Hopeful Homerism.....
Oglesby has one year of experience on Jok, not a "few" years. And we have to stop using the "getting his legs back" thing with Jok. He had surgery on that knee in 2011, and he's played two high school, and one college season since then. If his legs aren't "back", they're never going to be. If he can't be a consistent defensive contributor, he's not going to play a lot in Fran's system.Og's is supposed to be way ahead of him defensively since he has a few years experience on him. Jok will do just fine considering he is still getting his legs back from his injury.

It seems this is a problem with most Hawkeyes, this year.Oglesby has one year of experience on Jok, not a "few" years. And we have to stop using the "getting his legs back" thing with Jok. Oglesby had 2 years of college level experience to zero for Jok. Jok's knee(s) looked fine to me and I agree that past issues are just an excuse at this point. Jok was an offensive minded player in high school like so many others and has to learn the defensive part of the game. I am confident he will. Setting everything else aside...Jok is very likely going to play if he can score consistently.
I was looking into some prominent basketball players who recovered from Patellar tendon surgery. The results are...not great. Ended Alonzo Mourning's career. Ended Cedric Ceballo's career. Antonio McDyess came back, wasn't very good, got surgery again, and returned as a shell of his former self. Damon Stoudamire has a similar story. Its obvious Jok is a talented player. How long would it take for you to come back from the type of surgery Jok had? I doubt he really could play all out the last three years of high school. Hopefully, he will be making a great leap forward this year.

However, hopefully recovering from that injury as a teenager, rather than after 30 (like those above did), will help him recover more fully. However, from the info I received getting my internet MD, tearing that particular tendon usually implies structural issues in the knee and quad muscle before the injury, and it usually is a lingering problem, particularly for athletes.
