Hawkeyes Cruise in Hoops Opener

Giving up 32 points in the paint stands out like a sore thumb. Gave up far to many easy drives to the basket. Consistent perimeter shooting percentage was lacking outside of McCabe. However, all in all this team has the most weapons it has had in years. They will be a lot of fun to watch.

It is great to see Iowa pressing and being uptempo again.

Was a pretty solid performance tonight. Crowd was great. There are a few things that can be tightened up, but overall, I thought it was a good way to open the season. Really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Honestly, I couldn't help but wonder what this team could be capable of offensively. Obviously, they won't be scoring 80+ in many (if any) B1G games this year. But if they can drop 86 on a night when they really didn't shoot all that well (consistently, anyway), I think that's a positive sign if they can shore things up.

It'll happen more than once or twice. All we have to do is snooker them into trying to run with us. As enticing as 80-point games are I don't think I can stomach another fiasco like what we saw against Oregon or Indiana. But yes, if Oglesby and Gesell can hit from downtown and open up the lane for White-Marble-Basabe...watch out, lol.
