Hawkeye Women Semi at 8:30 vs Ohio St Sat Nite

You don't have to agree on the defense, but Iowa gave up 72.6 points per game this year. That's not good. The turnovers were a problem as you said. Don't get me wrong. This is a fun team to watch. However, giving up that many points per game will get them a quicker exit in the tourney then they'd like. I don't think this team is built for defense though. Dixon, who's fun to watch on three point shots is in all honesty a liability defensively as is Jennings.

I get what your trying to say here but the Lady HAWKS average 83.6 points per game. That's 11 more points than they give up. Sure there's always room for improvement on d......but I think Jennings does a pretty darn good job on defense. You gotta remember she's only a true freshman. As far a Dixon she doesn't play very good d but her scoring is off the charts and it would be a waste not to use her. She reminds me of Peter Jok. They are alot of fun to watch.

Rebounding has been the big red swollen sore thumb this season. Not sure where they're going to come from next season. I like Coley and Peschel, but their relative lack of strength was highlighted in the OSU and MN games down the stretch.

I do hope they work on this for next year. Clair Till showed up huge at the end of the season rebounding and taking charges. Ally Disterhoft is pretty scrappy but just not quite strong enough to hold her ground. We do have a 4 star 6-3 Megan Gustafson coming in that's supposed to be strong and DEFENDS with a shot blocking presence. Another 4 star 6-2 Hannah Stewart that is supposed to be physical inside with a power game in the paint and a versatile DEFENDER. Tania Davis 5-4 guard 5 star floor General with swagger and a LOCKDOWN DEFENDER. All of this information was from espn. Don't know how these freshman will work out next year but it sure looks promising for the future anyway.

As for Till, we agree on her. I wish she were 6'4" because she's as tough a kid as I saw play on this team. Just not tall enough to play at center.

The recruiting class coming in is strong as you stated. It may take a year for the young players to step up. Logic and Doolittle will be so missed which is a huge understatement.

Logic and Doolittle will definitely be a huge blow and one can only hope by conference time they will have a couple players step up and contribute. Will be fun to watch and see if they can finish in the top half of t h e big10. Something tells me maybe they'll be around the 6 spot. They also have Tagyn Larson 6-2 3star that's supposed to be active on t h e glass in next year's class also.

This team will still be stacked next year. Some people might underestimate them, but they will surprise some people.

The post looks like it will have good depth Chase Coley is going to be very good. I look forward to seeing Megan Gustafson as the other big. 6'4" Nicole Smith will be a senior, and if she is fully healthy could provide some big help at center.

For the forwards I would like to see Claire Till play more at the 4 with Kali Peschel at the 3. Chris Buttenham could be a starter also at forward. The freshman Stewert and Larson should help to provide key depth there.

The guards will be very good also. Whitney Jennings, Ally Disterhoft and Alexa Kastsnak all come back. Freshman Tiana Davis should also be a very good one.

To me it looks more like a reloading year than a rebuilding year. I like where the program is at now.
