Senior Matt Gatens loves that the next game is at home, but after experiencing few highs and plenty of lows, the four-year starter is just happy to be playing in the postseason.

"It's incredible. You don't want to take the uniform off," Gatens said. "It's good to be able to play again and to play for a championship. We have a very special opportunity to play in front of our home fans."

Why 65? If you are going for the first rank after the NCAA field then the number would be 69.

Yeah with all the banners we have hanging in CHA this one would look out of place. I doubt they would have room for the trophy in the trophy case.

Let me guess. You weren't in favor of a CBI bid. Sorry for interrupting your latte.
No, it's not the NCAA. But look in the rafters of teams who have won it. The banner is there and often serves as a springboard to doing well in the NCAA the following year. Consistent success doesn't happen all at once. It's earned.

The people complaining that playing in the NIT is beneath us are the same people that wanted TD fired. We haven't had any postseason basketball to watch for 6 years, and it's one last chance to watch a beloved senior at home for one more game. A senior that endured a lot because he always wanted to be a Hawkeye. So get off your butts and go support the team!
