Hawkeye following = Da Vinci Code

Just in the last year... Jake Kelley is coming back! Gatens called him up and said he would give him a room at his parents house! Lickliter is going to get fired... no, he won't... The players are going to quit... how many? Almost all of them? How do you know? Matt Gatens parents mentioned it at the HyVee. Is Matt leaving? Sounds like it. Now Fuller is leaving? Why? It was either him or Gatens, they don't get along. No, they are friends and they went on vacation together. When? During the B10 Tournament? No... impossible they were playing in that game? Did you see it, the only one playing was Cully.... But that would be jacked if they were on vacation after losing the last game of the season. When did they plan this? They lost on purpose to go on vacation.

Lickliter is fired and we are getting Bruce Pearl. We hired a coach. Who? Some East coast fella from Sienna. Where is Sienna, I don't know... you guys ever hear of Basabe? What is Basabe? Instant gratification. That big kid that plays 30' from the hoop and sets picks for Lil Lick is leaving... why? He hasn't found the classrooms yet. Larson and Brust are going to be awesome... they just left! That is ok, they weren't the type of players we wanted anyway... Wegher is not showing up for some reason (wrong forum fella- focus on basketball) We signed Cartwright as a back-up. Marble is bringing his cousin and his cousin is good! Says he is going to battle for starting position and that Fran promised him he will not go after any more point guards! He is leaving... was he ever here? Cricket Cricket. I just seen a Hawkeye football player on a moped... he looked like he will be an All-American (again... focus) Gatens is injured for the year. The entire season... so he will redshirt? No, no need to redshirt as he will be back next week. Cully injured his back and is out for the season.

It has been quiet in basketball since Cully Payne announced his injury and redshirt. Sad part... The football version of this would be a BOOK! Bottom Line... following Hawkeye sports on a message board is like watching the Da Vinci Code

It fits the hectic nature of the rumor mill around here. It was a post to make fun of (not sure if that's quite the right phrase, he seems a little too fed up with it to laugh at it) all the rumor mongers.
 
There is actually a lot of truth in this post.

These message boards suck. False rumors; ridiculous accusations; wild rumors; etc. etc. God this is the worst.

A person should completely remove himself from these boards and rely on the newspapers, which are at least subject to "objective" standards of reporting.

I am going to try to wean myself from this board... forever... its is just depressing to consult this board.... all of the negativity just guts you.... depressing..... can't breathe..... need oxygen.....goodbye forever.....

This sucks. I'm out. This is my last post. Adios amigos

Except Iowa has one the toothless and laziest media networks around. Might be just as good to learn to sift through the garbage here.
 
Any intelligent fan, who has followed the program for any length of time, knows when to buy into a posted comment, or put it in the "believe it when I see it" file. Sorry if you can't tell the difference.
 
Not sure if you meant it as a joke, but thanks for the laughs, because i remember everyone of those rumors. I can remember everytime i read one, thinking how far fetched they were.

I suppose you will never read this, a-la the adios amigos, but in case you do, I'm glad to see you go. I've never been comfortable dealing with those chosen by god. Somehow that makes me feel inferior, even though I don't think I am. .
