"Hawkeye Fan" Ashton Kutcher weighs in...whoops

Well, at least Kutcher apologized for his mistake. Something that Paterno has yet to do after all these years, and Paterno's mistake is far, far more egregious.

But I don't know how Kutcher can be so damn ignorant of the 'full story' before that tweet.

I can't believe he failed to gauge the public's outrage at the scandal before twittering. But then I know next to nothing about him.

I just want to know why you are defending joe pa. Is it because he is a good coach?

What if the president of a fortune 500 company was told by an intern that his ex VP was molesting a child in the company lockerroom. He told the CEO of the company (or whoever is higher up) and then did nothing, even though he knew nothing happened to the VP and he was still always at the office hanging around. Should nothing happen to them? Maybe it's ok cause he's the president of the company and maybe got bad info.

Berg- you are an idiot.

If im at penn st. im rioting with them
Why don't you go there then? In fact I would LOVE if you would switch your allegiance to PSU.

sorry, hawkeye tattoo on my back, 6 years of football season tickets and my room being deckd out in iowa colors and posters wont allow me to switch allegiance. So sorry, i guess your gonna have to deal with me cheering my heart out for iowa : )

Im an Idiot for having an opinion on the topic and how i feel?

considering that kutcher's main charity helps protect kids from sex trafficking, i am going to give him a pass on this one.

Tramp stamp, 6 years of season tickets, room decked out in Iowa colors, took 2 semesters of classes at Kirkwood. Classic.

I think everyone has to remember the players playing Saturday. It's not fair for them to have to play and deal with this. By firing Paterno now, they've at least started the process of moving on to focus on football. Paterno should of just resigned and they wouldn't of had to fire him. Paterno has even admitted he handled the situation wrong. It's not the ideal situation, but the student athletes should take priority over whether or not he got to coach 3 more games.

Here is the thing that gets me -- This investigation has been going on for 2 years. JoePa could of choose to retire before this season knowing that this was coming and his presence at Penn State would cause people to be upset and bring heat on the university. He always talks about doing what is best for the university but when he had the chance to walk away and maybe defuse the situation from completing overshadowing his current players he chose to be selfish so he could get the record 409 wins.

I don't understand how Penn State was blindsided by this. Any reasonable person could have foreseen the outrage of child molestation and their handling of the 2002 incident (not to mention the 1998 incident).

Jerry Sandusky ran a charity to help at risk kids. People gave him a pass for too many years and that was the problem. Maybe there's a reason why he chose to be involved with a charity that gives him access to children.

Agreed.

But, I honestly think that Paterno is not all there mentally, maybe suffering from dementia or alzheimer's. Not to excuse him at all for his behavior, but I think that it is simply deeper than an old man who is selfish and chose to look the other way. At least, I hope so. If not, than JoePa really is a pathetic excuse for a human being.
