Problem is JVB is a different kind of QB than Stanzi. JVB is not an under center, play action roll-out type of guy. But make no mistake, the staff will try to make him into one. Even though it's been clearly evident he plays much better out of the shotgun and that's where he's most comfortable.

For this reason I doubt we see any big improvement in JVB next season. He's going to continue to be a shotgun passer pigeon-holed into an offensive scheme that is becoming more and more outdated every year

You just hit the nail on the head. He is a shotgun QB, but the staff won't adjust to better fit the talent that they have on hand.

I agree.

Stanzi let 'er rip and made mistakes, but he also had drives that won games.

VDB has great stats, but in big games he's super tight and he looks really bad. PSU and NU looked like they had 13 guys on defense, as VDB was totally unable to take advantage of defenses who were trying to take advantage of him.

Couldn't make them pay......
