Have we ever done a 'midnight madness'?

Back in the glory days even? I would think itll be a good recruiting tool and a good way to get the students/fans excited (granted they show up)

Does anyone know why Iowa doesn't do one? Makes zero sense.

We have a hard time getting 10,000 butts in the seats for B1G games the last couple years and you can't figure out why they don't have a practice at midnight in October open to the public?

Baby steps here people.

I seem to have a rather vivid memory of a Luke Recker highlight during a Midnight Madness...or at least what sure seemed to be a Midnight Madness atmosphere. They were preseason top 10 with him, Evans, and Oliver the one year so they very well might have.

I wish we could do one. I'd love to actually get to go to one just once while I'm still a student.

I would bet in the next couple years, if not next with our nice recruiting class that we will have one.

I think Lick did one...but after opening the event with a bounce passing drill all 6 people in attendance fell asleep and the team quietly left the court at 12:07am and let them sleep.

Lickliter goes to bed at 9:30 so that's why he didnt do it

If we have a decent season this year I could see one happening next year. Before scheduling one you have to be confident more than 478 people will show up

They went over to the fieldhouse and ran the shell drill though. Lemme tell ya, thats more exciting than a scrimmage.

They did Midday Madness this year last Saturday from 1-4 for the open practice. Free food was served to the first 2000 in attendance, prizes given away, etc.

I like Midday Madness better. To me that is thinking out of the box instead of copying what everyone else does. It is more family orientated.

I attended the one in 2002, Bru and Horner's frosh year. The whole Pierce story was just coming out,but attendance was probably still around 6-7k. It started at 11:00 with an Iowa football game the next day,so I think many fans could not do both.
It was ok,but a sleepy crowd...nothing like the extravagandza's put on by the major bb powers I saw last week on ESPNU's coverage of MM. Places like KY,Duke,KU,UNC,and Louisville were rocking and looked pretty full.

I liked this concept better.

I like the Midday better, preceding a night game, parents can take the children and not keep them up til 1-3 in the morning
