Guys, everything is under control with the program. Fran is fine releasing these kids because he has a plan. For your information, there are several (I think around 7) uncommitted McDonald's All-Americans right now and we have scholarships and playing time available. Fran has a little something up his sleeve. You better hope you had season tickets last year or have a lot of priority points because Iowa basketball tickets are going to be in short supply.

McD AAs are not coming to Iowa. Fran hasnt ever landed one and he isnt going to do it in 5 or 6 days. Yes maybe in the future but not right now. Kentucky has 5 spots open, that could leave 2 left. Kansas has 2 open. Pretend they are gone.

McDonalds All Americans aren't going to come to Iowa in the near future no matter how much playing time there might be. Appreciate the positive thinking though.

Of course Fran hasn't landed any McD AAs in the past - he was at a small school. Now that he is in the bigs, we'll see what he can do - I would be surprised if he doesn't land at least 2 of the available studs. That's why you bring a guy like him.

There is a differenct between faith and last ditch hope. 22 losses isnt attractive. One and dones dont get enough tv time at iowa.

If a few more players or recruits ask for their release, maybe we can get all 7 of 'em. After all, we're building a really nice practice facility.;)

No way we could get all 7 - there is only one ball and those guys wouldn't all want to go to the same school. I think two, maybe three max, is much more realistic and probable. 7 is just being greedy and then you'd have to think about which proven performer from the studs who are still with the team you would want to do without and I don't think my stomach could take any more transfers or de-commits.

Guys, when I wrote this post, I was referring to top 100 guys out of the 2012 class. Again, the voice of reason of HawkeyeNation.

Wow, the past 24 hours have brought all kinds of lunacy out on this board. Somebody with Okeefe4prez and a picture of Alford knows the secret strategy of McCaffrey to lure McDonald all Americans to Iowa. Your ramblings make Bernie Madoff seem like a sound financial advisor. I think you need to hook up with guy who claims McCaffrey is using Iowa as a stepping stone for a better east coast job. You two could really spin some tales. The type of players you speak of go to places where they can make deep tourney runs immediately so they get mega exposure to aid their pursuit of a career in the league.
 
I would bet on at least 2 5 stars comitting for 2012 still...just due to the fact that were so back.

Guy, my post was a year and a half old. I had faith when we brought in Fran and I was about the only one. Others wanted Barta fired, but I was steadfast in my belief that we would be back. Now we are.
