I have a few clients in LA....big Tiger fans. Really great guys. Haven't talked to one of them in years and he's already texted and said congrats and good luck. Good people down there.

Still "decent" for those prices is not acceptable. The problem with most steak house nowadays is that most of it is about being "seen", quality of meat seems to be falling across the board.
 
Guys you live in the midwest, why on earth would you get a steak in FL? Its probably 1/4 gator and a dash of manatee mixed in.....

They have better steaks at Berns than most places in the Midwest. Chicago included.

There are some good steakhouses in Florida (Christner's/Del Frisco's in Orlando is excellent). Just like Midwestern restaurants can have good seafood. And believe it or not, there are good Chinese restaurants that aren't in China, or even "China Town".

It's true.
 
all we need now is Miles to be named the new Dolphins coach and Rudock to throw the next New Years day miracle bomb.

I'll take a suggestion. I'm in the Ft. Lauderdale area and only driving up for the game. Anyway, I'm about the steak, and not about the flash, so if you have a place in mind, I'll check it out. I still think Bern's steaks are superior to anything I've ever had in Chicago.

I haven't been, but have heard the steakhouse at The Hard Rock Hotel/Casino is really good. But, ambience-wise? If you can stomach a casino environment...

Bern's is certainly still very good. I just think the quality has diminished over time. OTOH, given it's starting point, I have to admit, they didn't have much room between themselves and the ceiling.

Haven't done Side-Berns yet. Hope I never have to, from what i have heard. I think they are trying to incorporate some of the "after-work-crowd-that-doesn't-want-or-can't-afford-an-expensive-dinner-and-I-am-really-cool-because-I-drink-martinis-like-Don Draper-and-George Clooney" with "let's-not-destroy-an-institution" feelings that are prevalent throughout our country.

You go outside Chicago and hit an Uno's or Giordano's and your system goes into shock. Getting a Chicago Italian Beef sandwich in Orlando is a mixture of laughter and borderline-felony. What passes for "New York pizza" in Daytona Beach deserves a REAL New York "hit". So on that score, Bern's is still awesome. But, if you ever went in the 1980s or early 1990s, there is a bit of lament of it not being "the same as I remember".

Of course, if you're like me, where the wine list is EASILY as important as the menu, it pretty much doesn't get better than Bern's. I could go just to read the wine list and skip dinner! If I hit PowerBall or MegaMillions, that wine list/cellar would be absolutely EMPTIED.

Hey you Bayou b!tches, 1-0! Hawks beat you with Sam Brownlee and Marques Simmons netting 47 yards last time, when your defense was twice as tough. What makes you think urr gonna stop the Hebrew Hammer / Jordan Canzeri combo? (Only Kirt Ferentz and Gerg Davis can stop those 2.)

Morris and Hitchens are gonna go gator on Jennings' Cajun azz, while Kirksey cleans up the oskies like swamp people scoopin' crawfish.

Now git me some andouille jambalaya as we watch Iowa's Donny Shumpert (ya ever herda him?) scores another last second TD!
