Has the game passed Kirk by?

Yes, the current college game has passed Kirk by, but I don't see him changing anything since he is basically a tenured professor (making 4 million a year).

Saw this on another board and thought it was humorous...

I said this in another thread, but, it all boils down to a pretty simple analysis: Ferentz is 6-7, that's 6 wins and 7 losses, vs. Iowa State. That's 13 teams. Some were young, some were more experienced and others were veteran. But the sum of them all is, losing record.

Highest paid coaches:
5.17, Nick Saban, Alabama, 15, two national championships
5.10, Mack Brown, Texas, 26, one national championship
4.53, Bob Stoops, Oklahoma, 12, one national championship
4.00, Lane Kiffin, USC, 2, 15-11 career record
3.78, Kirk Ferentz, Iowa, 12, four top-10 seasons
3.75, Les Miles, LSU, 10, one national championship
3.65, Jim Tressel, Ohio State, 10, one national championship

Kiffin's record after two years is a winning record. Ferentz's was 4-18 after two years.

This moronic thread is the exact reason I usually don't drop by boards after we lose. Seriously the number of Iowa fans that are totally clueless when it comes to anything relating to football is absolutely amazing to me. We are a very YOUNG team and there was a reason why most analysts were predicting a middle of the road year. A ton of programs would fire their coach tomorrow for a shot to have KF as their Head Coach, and that includes NFL teams as well.
This.

Keep Kirk on as head coach to recruit, coach in practice, develop talent.....find a second head coach to take over on game day and decide when to run the two minute offense, when to call timeouts, when to spike the ball, etc.

BINGO.

KFz needs to hire a young, hot, offensive coordinator and let him rip.

KFz is the best "assistant/Head Coach" in the country. But he's lousy on the sidelines and "in-game".
