Has Recent Flurry of Offers Changed Iowa's Position w/ Eno Benjamin?

I wouldn't say he is gone, but it is going to be tough to reel him in. From the get go, he's liked Iowa, so we have that going for us. It's a long process.

I wasn't worried about the list of schools at all until I saw Iowa State on the list. I'm sure if he got a valentine we are in trouble.

In all seriousness though, we can hang onto guys like this by following last season up with another strong year. Michigan of course worries me because they are quickly becoming a powerhouse once again.

My guess is Iowa wants to lock things up ASAP considering they were successful holding on to nearly all early verbals last year with that approach. Allows them to spend more time strengthening their position with them vs. running around the MW playing musical chairs with other programs for the undecideds. I would think it's first come first serve with most positions including RB. Some reporting we're trying to flip a fella we were after earlier, Michael Warren, a Kentucky verbal. Looks a lot like a Benjamin type RB. I doubt Iowa has lost interest in Benjamin but have to hedge our position.

I also don't see Ferentz pulling an offer on a verbal as a general practice if someone better comes along later. I think the earlier approach to filling the spots serves Iowa best as we aren't noted for our closing power in the late innings especially when competing vs. the Power 5's.

I agree. Like the insight and to see we hold true if you commitment to play. This has to help when selling what a commitment means to holding true to words from KF

Last year was an anomaly that most of the class was all committed and stayed that way since before kickoff of the season. As nice as that was I doubt that'll happen this year again. It'd be great if this kid were to commit early but needless to say he'll have options and who can blame a kid for taking some time to let it play out and soak it all in before deciding?
