Has Iowa won at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln?

My records go back as far as 1946 and there were no wins at Lincoln during that time. Does anyone know if the Hawks won in Memorial Stadium between 1923 & 1946? Memorial Stadium was a new stadium in 1923.

The reason I am asking is because a delusional Clown fan on KXNO incorrectly stated that the reason Iowa flourished under Hayden was the BIG win at Nebraska in the early 80's. During that time period, the Hawks did not win in Lincoln as Hayden went 1-3 against Nebby in his first four years as the Iowa coach. His lone win came at Kinnick in 1981, 10-7.

According the the Stassen.com database, Iowa is 3-14 all-time on the road against Nebraska. 2-14 in Lincoln (1918 and 1943) and 1-0 in Omaha (1899).

Thanks Go,

one win lifetime in Memorial Stadium is better than none. 9 -21 lifetime is not so great but Iowa is 5-8 since 1940 with 5 of the losses coming at very inopportune times, at the very beginning of both the Fry and Ferentz eras.

I love that website. Jon is always pimping it and I've finally starting referencing it quite a bit recently now that I can finally remember the web address.

It looks logical, if you look the yr before it was a blowout...then the next fiarly close (in score, I havnt looked up stats or anything) but that game was in Iowa City. Hayden was going to do his thing at Iowa regardless of the win in 81. Great guy...real class act.

I've written this before, but this is one of the worst things about Nebraska being in the Big Ten - Cornhusker fans coming on an Iowa board feeling the need to "educate" us about Cornhusker history. I'll say it again, we really don't care.

Do you know what is really incredible about that listing of games between Iowa and Nebraska? Perhaps the 4 best decades in Iowa football history (1920s, 1950s, 1980s, and 2000s) are almost completely absent from the series...coincidence? Maybe, but very interesting nonetheless.

I wonder what the head to head total would be if not for the ill-timed (from an Iowa perspective) hiatuses?

If they post accurate history, who cares.

If they beat us on the field as a BT opponent, that would be bad.

Oh, so is that why an Iowa fan asked a question about NU history? I'm a bit confused here. ;)

I enjoy input from other fans... good info... keep posting.

It's called Hawkeyenation.com. If you'd like Husker information, try Google - Nebraska Cornhuskers. I bet you get plenty of hits. I blame this attitude on kids' soccer. The wussification of American sports - everybody gets a trophy, everybody gets orange slices, granola bar and fruit rollups (altho' I kinda like those). You want them in the Big Ten? Then start acting like it. They are now another flyspeck on our windshield. Stop playing nice-nice with them. I used to like Nebraska football, but those days are over.
