Has Iowa ever played a game in April?

A win on Wednesday would put them into the NIT semifinals which would be played April 2nd. Would that potentially be the first game Iowa has ever played in the month of April? Or were those final four appearances years ago played in April?

Just guessing here, but pretty sure that was in march. The games used to coincide with the state hs tourney games. I remember gathering in the hotel rooms to watch Ronnie Lester (who got injured), Boyle, Arnold, Hanson, Gannon and co. after being at Vets auditorium all day. May have been 1st round, but still was early March. There wasn't 64 teams then either, I don't think. But I also remember going to final 4 in denver in 1990 in april because I was with some friends of the UNLV players and they did an April fools day prank. (oh those little things that jog our memories)!

Not sure about the games in the 50s, bht I would bet not.

Looked at that boxscore, man the Ville shot 60%? Lester or not, can't beat a team that can't miss.
