Has Ferentz lost control of the program?

I know whenever this has been brought up in the past, it has been quickly shot down as "absolutely not", and I admit historically I have been in that vote as well.. but honestly when are we going to stop giving the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Every year we are losing to horrible teams(when we have significatly more talent), or having multiple players arrested(on pretty serious crimes), or having 20 kids in the hospital after workout

Something is obviously wrong, and Im starting to think Ferentz has lost control.

I'm genuinally interested in all of your opionions.

Absolutely not but I would feel better if he had. These are the players he recruited, this is the style of play he wants, and we are seeing the results of his complete control over the program.

If I can steal a thought from Bill Parcells, Ferentz shopped for all the groceries and cooked the meal.

All I will say is a lot of players he has recruited the last 4 to 5 years that could be on this team are gone and a many could be making a big difference.

According to a player last year, there are probably 3 or 4 coaches on the entire staff that the players actually respect, the rest they see as complete jokes. Thats the first problem.

No.
But I think alot of players come and find that they could have superior talents but they will be buried behind someone ahead of them on the depth chart.
They also find that when opportunites exist for the next man in line to get reps they won't because KF doesn't trust them to play the game. He'd rather drive the 1st teamers into the ground and not have anyone the next year with any game reps.

I'd just like to know why Coker was denied from getting relief after a long run. Even McNutt was calling for Coker to get relief. I felt pretty bad for him as he was gassed.

So we couldn't sub for him for one or two ays? This is how kids get hurt. And how do our backups feel that our staff doesn't have confidence for them to play against MN!!!

Pretty stupid isn't it?

oh relax, a 20 year old kid isn't getting hurt from staying in the game after a long run, he'll be just fine

Yep your right. Oh wait where was #6 Davis this week? Oh I forgot hurt in meaningless minutes against Indiana up 3 scores late in the 4th quarter.

cokers minutes werent meaningless though, we were fighting for a win, he can play another play. He's a young, strong kid. Yeah, if you are gassed he should of came out but i'd say it is aobut a 3 on the scale of 100 in terms of importance. he's fine.

The D line coach has got to go. THis might be the worst D line in the conference behind INdiana but they have no talent. How you can NOT be prepared for an onside kick yet again is absolutely unforgivable on game day coaching but this staff seems to not just go brain dead but relive brain dead moments each and every year. The game is passing them by.

on one hand you say he should go, but then he must be doing something right if he has put 11 players in the pros in recent years, more than any other program....

I don't believe you are correct in stating that coach K has put 11 D linemen in the pros. That was mainly done by Ted Gill (now coaching in the NFL) and both Claiborn and Ballard were studs out of HS.
