Harbaugh to L.A.

He actually making $2,000,000 more than Jeff Fisher this year if you include the interest-free life insurance premiums.

His position as a Michigan alumnus, starting QB, best recruiter in the nation, and the most popular head coach in school history (yes, more popular than Schembechler) make him almost impossible to fire. You don't get that kind of job security in the NFL.

riiiight....

Schembechler may be more beloved by the traditionalist over 60 crowd, but no coach has had more current students, recruits, players, and fans go completely ga-ga over him other than Harbaugh, with the possible exception of Tom Osbourne. Certainly not at Michigan.

Why would you leave Michigan? the best recruits knock on your door. he doesn't even have to try.

He still has an NFL itch and no amount of ointment(money, popularity, power, prestige) will cure it. It wouldn't surprise me by 2021 that Harbaugh and Urban Meyer are gone. Harbaugh will be in the NFL, not sure about Meyer he might go back to television or maybe dip his toe in the NFL.....don't know.

The LA Rams just made a big mistake and fired one of the most respected football coaches in the game. You may not agree with him or everything he did, but he did things the right way in St Louis. They played good defense and never got blown out, kept things close and made plays when it mattered. The next step for the Rams is probably going to be a step down from where they are right now, and their fans probably don't realize it yet.

People apparently have to much time on their hands.

Let me give this a try;

Kirk to announce retirement after Outback Bowl. Bobby Stoops to then sign an eight year contract with Iowa.

Almost there. But Stoops is retiring also.

I see what you did there

That was very subtle. Well done.

The Rams will never be good. In the presser today, Dimoff (sp?) was calling it an organizational failure.
Duh. Watching that team up close since Kroanke took over has been brutal.

Harbaugh would not be successful there. No one will.

This would make zero sense. If he did go, I'd seriously be worried about his mental capacity. Michigan job is much more attractive job than crappy Rams job. Unless Kurt Warner is part of the package. Magic part 2. God I miss Warner in the NFL.

Much more attractive than L.A. and a pro job? Ok

Hmm...

Complete control of everything related to football at Michigan, more money than an NFL job, a million times more job security, controlling who all of your incoming players are, and fans that love you.

Yep. I'd say that's much more attractive than L.A. and a pro job.

You must have missed the part where he's already been run out of a big market coaching job in California. His wife could charter a private jet to LA twice a week and his bank account would never even know it.

For a married man in his 40's with children, When he has past, strong ties to the program, thus job security, thus overall control...Yes.

If you are young, single, no kids, and still think nice weather, large populations, silicon, and beaches, are the most important things....No.

More and more becoming less and less difference between pro jobs and top tier college jobs in football. AD is the GM, College President/Boosters are the "owners". Until the players mature, many times both are dealing with attitudes, egos.

It's different, but not as much as it used to be.

There's only one reason I could see Harbaugh taking a chance to go back to the NFL. He's a fierce competitor. I could see him wanting to prove it again at the highest level. It's just who he is and what he does. It's in his blood. He may not take the LA job, but I bet at some point he'll end up back in the league.

Fake news has made its way to message boards. That's too bad, because the conventional wisdom is.....if it is reported on the internet, it must be true, right?
